It's a command: "You shall love me..."

But it doesn't end there: "You shall love me with all your heart, soul, mind and strength."

God's claim on our love is a claim for every ounce of it!

Does He have a right to such a claim?

Jesus said, "This is the first and greatest commandment, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength."

Why does Jesus call it the FIRST commandment?
 
Why does Jesus call it the GREATEST commandment? 

We all face moments when our hearts are filled with fear and doubt! 
Will God protect?
Will God provide?
To which the Psalmist says, "My soul, wait you only upon God."

We've all been there: Facing the need to make a decision!

Sometimes it's about a job opportunity, or about ministry, or a relationship, or how to spend our money.

Where can we find wisdom to decide on these?

Have you ever been let down? By people? By circumstances?

You placed your confidence in a person, and they failed you. You depended on the advice given you, and it proved foolish. Your whole life was invested in your husband/wife/children, and they have been taken from you.

The apostle Paul said, "For me to live is Christ..." 

His only objective was Christ. In pursuing Christ, he forsook fame, fortune, respect, acclaim.
What advantage did he get from it?  Imprisonment, turture, death!

Was it worth it?
Is there any advantage to be gained from making God our only objective?

How often do we pause to consider the full extent of the meaning "perish", as it relates to those who die outside of Christ?

Seldom to we hear it mentioned from the pulpit, and seldom does it serve as fuel for sharing the gospel with loved ones and friends.

The Corona Virus pandemic that has raged across the globe for almost a year now has destroyed economies, thrust many into unemployment and taken the lives of almost 2 million people, some of whom have been our loved ones and friends.
