30 min - Gideon Media Presents: Steal The StarsWe're taking a break this week, but we would love it if you would all check out another of Gideon Media's shows "Steal The Stars". Directed by Jordana Williams, who directed Ask Your Father, and written by Mac Rogers, Steal The Stars is the story of Dakota Prentiss and Matt Salem, two government employees guarding the biggest secret in the world: a crashed UFO. Despite being forbidden to fraternize, Dak and Matt fall in love and decide to escape to a better life on the wings of an incredibly dangerous plan: they’re going to steal the alien body they’ve been guarding and sell the secret of its existence. What People are saying -“Operatic in its intensity, sensitively acted, and taut with suspense.”“Sci-fi noir thriller that feels like listening to a feature film.”“It's slick, it's *surprisingly* funny, it's terrifying in places, and Dak is hands-down one of my favorite narrators in a long while.”“Doesn't so much raise the bar on audio serials as launch it into space.”For more information, including cast lists and credits, go to gideon-media.comLearn more about your ad choices. 22 min - Ask Your Father Trailer
Ask Your Father asks the question: What does it mean to be a family? What does it mean to be a person in that family, even if you aren’t a human? The show allows us to explore concepts of human rights, the ownership of our labor, the limits we put on morality and the fight for personhood - all in the form of a sci-fi thriller. The first season is 9 episodes long and tells a complete story, but one with room to grow in unexpected directions in future seasons.
Lem, a human, and Mikey, an A.I., are piloting the first ever faster than light speed ship when they find themselves twice as far as they meant to go, and without any fuel for a return flight. The two of them communicate with Earth using tiny faster-than-light-speed drives, which carry information for Mikey and questions for Lem from his kids. As they work together to solve the problem, they forge a friendship that could change the course of human history, all while trying to answer the question “how did this happen?” And more importantly… “Why?”
