Asking a Constitutional Expert About the Voice to Parliament Part 1: Its Purpose and Function

Listen Later

What is the Voice to Parliament? What does the Voice to Parliament do? Why put it in the constitution? And why would that be different to creating a legislative Voice instead? These questions and more I ask directly to a constitutional expert - Professor Anne Twomey - who was a member of the constitutional expert group advising the referendum working group on some of the constitutional and legal aspects about the Voice.

A referendum is an important vote and changing the constitution naturally brings up a lot of hypotheticals, uncertainties, and questions, which is why I've reached out to an expert to address those concerns. I highly recommend you watch Anne Twomey's Youtube channel Constitution Clarion to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/@constitutionalclarion1901
