The long-lost brother has returned! We're talking, of course, about the Luigi Sound Lord himself, Danny! Who did you think we meant? Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, Robbie, and Danny get together to discuss "On a Very Special Episode...", the fifth episode of the Marvel Studios/Disney+ series WANDAVISION. Along the way, everyone learns a few important lessons about life and '80s sitcoms, Robbie and Chris decide to start the Grand Admiral Thrawncast, the guys go on a much longer tangent about a throwaway reference to an "aerospace engineer" than you'd expect (or would you?), and of course, a long discussion about THAT surprise ending and what it could mean for the future.
And now for something completely different. Angela joins Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie to discuss episode 4 of WANDAVISION, "We Interrupt This Program." For the first time, the Disney+ series breaks completely from its sitcom style to give us a glimpse of the outside world, bringing together an unlikely assortment of characters from several previous MCU films. What do a snarky former intern/current astrophysicist, an FBI agent/sleight of hand aficionado, and a recently un-blipped SWORD agent we last saw as an 11-year-old in CAPTAIN MARVEL have in common? What brings them to the mysterious Westview? And did this show seriously just call out obsessive fans who comb every frame of every episode for answers? Hey, we resemble that remark!
We're back with episode 3 of the Disney+ series WANDAVISION, "Now in Color," with special guest star Bailey! (She's a podcast guest, not a guest on the TV episode, though that would be really cool.) Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, Robbie, and Bailey talk about the 1970s-inspired episode, suspicious storks, fruit measurements, the Yeeting of Geraldine, and more. All that, and the most casual monumental announcement in podcast history!
RETROSPECTIVE NO MORE! Assembly Required takes its first steps into the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie recap the first two episodes of WANDAVISION, Marvel Studios' first Disney+ original series! Dive into the surreal sitcom town of Westview where Wanda Maximoff and her new husband, the android Vision, live an idyllic life... or do they? Hear about some of the classic sitcoms that were an influence on these episodes, listen to Chris slowly lose his grip on his sanity as he recaps the 1985 comic limited series "The Vision and the Scarlet Witch," and join the guys as they engage in some wild speculation about future episodes.
Cowabunga! After finishing up DAREDEVIL, Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie are back with their first ever non-Marvel bonus episode! As you may know, original TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES comic serves as something of a parody of Daredevil, so it only seemed appropriate to cover the franchise. Each of the guys has a different history with the turtles (if at all), so be ready for lots about the cartoon, the toys, the video games, as well as a look at the original 1990 film. ALSO: A lot more about the Power Rangers than anticipated.
On a serious note: as you'll hear towards the end of the show, our friend Trevor is on the donation list for a kidney, but needs some help raising the funds for the procedure. If you are able, please consider contributing to his GoFundMe. Thank you! https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/nft-trevorvandahm
Our dive into Season 1 of Marvel and Netflix's DAREDEVIL concludes as Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie come together to talk about the DAREDEVIL episode called "Daredevil" starring Daredevil. Does the man without fear stick the landing, or will he tumble down Snake River Canyon? Will Wilson Fisk pick the worst possible Bible character to relate to? Will this superhero show ever feature a superhero costume? Find out the answers to these questions and more in the thrilling finale!
We're approaching the end of season one of Marvel and Netflix's DAREDEVIL, but of course, things need to get worse before they can get better. First, Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie talk about Wesley's poorly thought out intimidation tactics in "The Path of the Righteous." Then, after several derailments, they finally bring themselves to discuss what may be the most tragic moment of the series so far. It's a laugh a minute!
The deep dive into season one of Netflix and Marvel's DAREDEVIL continues as Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie discuss episodes 9 and 10. First, tragedy strikes, Matt comes face to face with Wilson Fisk for the first time, and the Devil of Hell's Kitchen fights a frickin' ninja. Then, an old friendship may have met its breaking point. All that, plus Chris's reactions make Robbie VERY scared of how Chris will feel about upcoming events!
Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie are back to talk about two episodes of Netflix's DAREDEVIL that delve deep into the traumatic childhoods of both our hero and our villain. First up, Matt Murdock is visited by his old mentor, Stick, and no amount of ice cream wrapper bracelets is going to make this a pleasant reunion. Then, we find out the secret history of Wilson Fisk, and just what happened to him as a child to push him into darkness. SPOILERS: it involves carpenter's tools and isn't fun to watch, but it makes for compelling TV.
Everyone here at Assembly Required wishes you a safe and happy Thanksgiving (and a safe and happy Thursday to our friends outside the US)!
Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie are back to talk about the fifth and sixth episodes of season one of Marvel's Netflix series DAREDEVIL. They discuss the first (sort of) meeting between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, corrupt cops who are mean to journalists, and Daredevil's apparent ability to hear the inanimate contents of boxes from across the room. Also, stay tuned at the end for a special announcement from the Sound Lord!
