Bekas Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad mengakui generasi pemimpin yang seangkatan beliau sudah tamat, dan legasi pemerintahan perlu diteruskan oleh generasi muda.

Namun Ahli Parlimen Langkawi itu menegaskan, tidak semestinya pemimpin muda politik hanya perlu menumpukan usaha meraih sokongan daripada golongan sebaya mereka, dan terus mengabaikan generasi terdahulu.

Bekas Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad malam ini mendedahkan bahawa beliau pernah diberitahu Tengku Razaleigh Tengku Hamzah bahawa Ahli Parlimen Gua Musang itu boleh mencari bilangan Ahli Parlimen yang mencukupi untuk menukar Kerajaan Persekutuan.

Bagaimanapun, jelas Ahli Parlimen Langkawi itu lagi, apa yang berlaku adalah sebaliknya, dan ketika ini Putera dari Kerabat Kelantan itu dilihat sedang berusaha untuk meyakinkan rakyat bahawa Kerajaan Perikatan Nasional pimpinan Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin tidak mempunyai legitimasi.

Jika kena 'caranya', tak mustahil akan berbaik-baik semula dengan Perdana Menteri, akui Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad mengenai hubungannya dengan Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Dalam program khas Eksklusif Bersama Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yang bersiaran malam ini, bekas Perdana Menteri itu berkata, bagaimanapun beliau setuju untuk bekerjasama semula seandainya syarat-syarat tertentu boleh dipenuhi.
