July's Golden Guest is Esteban Colon from Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Esteban was the Poet Laureate of Kenosha from 2018-2019.
I met Esteban when I began my career as a Facilitator at Loyola University's Woodstock, IL campus. Esteban was one of my mentors and is still very inspirational to me as a poet.
Esteban has been writing poetry for a long time, and has recently published a book of his poetry inspired by a trip to a dinosaur excavation site with Carthage College back in 2019- as a representative of Kenosha's poet laureate program.
We have recently reconnected when I heard that Esteban was writing and reading his poems inspired by art pieces at a local Kenosha art gallery.
