Help me give a warm welcome to April's Golden Guest K.L.L. the Artist as the first in person interview from Las Vegas, Nevada. I met up with KL while vacationing during St. Patrick's day. We had met briefly before at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020. Now connected via Instagram, KL has graciously set up a film studio for the taping of this podcast show.
K.L.L the Artist is a rising star of contemporary young artist in the Southwest of USA. Amazingly talented, KL is also very prolific as her home studio is filled with works in progress and many art supplies. As she makes her way through art festivals mainly in the Southwest, KL has found great joy living as a professional contemporary artist. She supports herself with a part-time job, giving her time to create art.
Las Vegas is a hub of new artists as the city continues to grow. KL having been influenced by her Hawaiian/Mexican heritage paints hauntingly beautiful pictures born from her very gifted imaginative mind. I am inspired by the honesty her pictures reveal during the various phases she has grown as an evolving female artist.
Recently KL has begun to explore black and white photography, while exploring the desert surrounding her hometown of Las Vegas. Transcendent time stands still in these b/w pictures as KL is also the subject of some of these very evoking images of a wild west long faded into the desert landscape of wooden shacks.
Thank you KL for sharing your very personal thoughts and home.
