Mike spends the entire episode trying to decipher a movie playing in the distance, Jake cant remember what else he talked about as he eluded to on the episode. He has no idea what happens on the show until it is posted. Then the team discussed Obi Wan and its finale (There are spoilers that begin at the 40 minute mark and end by the 50 minute mark) before discussing Micheal Jackson and his death.
To end the podcast today, Mike and Jake share their feelings on todays announcement of the supreme court overturning Roe Vs Wade. The following is a message from Jake ..
Hey guys,
If you're reading this it means you listen to this podcast which means you mean the world to me. The reception and support the show has received in the first six months has been mind blowing. I did not think we would do as well as we have so I wanted to take the time to thank you. I also want to thank you for allowing us to indulge ourselves in discussion about certain "heated debates" going on throughout our society. In many different facets of American life it seems we are at a breaking point. The abortion argument is a good example as well as how to tackle gun control. I could continue to list other issues but you get the idea. While I wont for a second pretend to have all the answers to these issues it is my firm belief that the only way to find our way through these conflicts as a population is through what you allow us to do here. Speaking on these topics, sharing our honest and informed opinions, and being receptive to opinions that differ from ours is the only way we can begin to piece back together a shattered culture. I feel blessed that I can turn this mic on and share my opinions on things with you. Its something I would like to do more of, and I would love to hear from each one of you. Everyone has a slightly altered world view. Together through respectful discussion and engagement we are able better understand why each of us feels the way we feel. This doesn't mean every show will have political discussion. When a big story pops up and I have a strong opinion or don't know how I feel I feel comfortable attending my favorite form of therapy, talking through a mic to you silly people. I respect that not everyone will agree with me, I look forward to hearing from you as well. I may learn a thing or two.
