Join us as we discuss mindful self-compassion with David Fredrickson, a Psychotherapist and Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher.
Over the last few years, we have all come face to face with vulnerability and loss, especially older adults. In this conversation we explore the practice of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). We can’t avoid many of life’s difficulties, but we can develop a way of relating to ourselves that is kinder, more compassionate and causes less distress or harm. Research shows that self-compassion leads to increased emotional and physical wellbeing, reduced levels of anxiety and depression, greater resilience, maintenance of healthy habits, and improved personal relationships.
In this conversation, David Fredrickson explains the three components of mindful self-compassion and leads participants in a guided meditation/mindfulness exercise to give us a feel for mindful self-compassion in practice!
