  • Natural Remedies: From Maggots & Leeches to Kinesiology & NET

This week we're diving into some of history's most unusual natural remedies, and not all of them are glamorous (hello, maggots and leeches). There are a few personal stories in here too that might make you a little squeamish, so apologies in advance! Then Matilda shares her experience with applied kinesiology and NET, and how it helped with a pain problem when nothing else seemed to. Scott opens up about his experience with "splitting," particularly when it comes to public speaking.

And somewhere in the middle, we've hidden a sneaky discount code for The Good Farm Shop, so only listeners will catch it. As always, we dig into some fascinating bits of history, learn a few things and have a laugh. We hope you do too!

  • We Promised Mind-Blowing Facts… Then Got Sidetracked By Evolution And The Life Expectancy Ladder

We set out to blow your mind with some mind-blowing facts… and quickly realised they might not be quite as mind-blowing as we thought. Luckily, it didn't matter, because it sent us down a rabbit hole into evolution and the life expectancy ladder, from the Roman Empire right through to today.

We look at where Australia sits compared to the rest of the world and dig into why life expectancy is so much lower in some countries. We touch on vaccines along the way (no politics, promise), before wrapping up with this week's audience question: what was your schooling like, and how has it influenced the way you've chosen to school your own kids?

We learn, we laugh, and we hope you do too!

  • A Troll Says My Dad Funds Our Business, So Here's the Real Number

We start this one talking about what it's actually like being on camera (which somehow turns into a chat about Big Brother, as it does) before getting into something that's been sitting with us for a bit. Someone left a comment on our YouTube claiming my dad is funding our business, so we read it out and talk about it, and I share exactly what my parents put in right at the very start, because I'd rather just be open about it than have people guessing.

Then we get into food. China recently sent back a shipment of Australian mung beans because the glyphosate residue was way over the allowed limit, which is pretty concerning. From there we go back through a few of the big food scandals in history, including the baby formula crisis in China where formula was cut with melamine, and the industrial rapeseed oil in Spain that was sold as cooking oil and made thousands of people sick.

If you've got a question you'd love us to answer on the show, leave it in the comments, and if you enjoyed this one please share it with someone and leave us a review. It genuinely helps.

  • Diet Culture: From Cigarettes To Tapeworms To My Day On A Plate

Content warning:Β this episode includes open discussion of eating disorders, disordered eating and dieting. If that's not something you can be around today, skip this one. We'll see you next week.

Every generation gets sold a diet. This week we go back through them: the cigarette diet, the tapeworm diet, breatharianism (among others - some pretty wild!), and the ones we personally signed up for, including Scott's stints on Paleo and Keto. Then we bring it right up to now, and the modern version of the same thing: the perfectly curated day on a plate.

Til talks openly about her own history with disordered eating, the diets she went on, and the thing she thinks about most now as a mum: how to raise a daughter who doesn't inherit any of it.

Then your question, and it's a big one. Veganism versus regenerative agriculture. Which one actually stacks up, and can they ever be on the same side?

Support:Β if anything here brings something up for you, the Butterfly Foundation's National Helpline is free and open 8am to midnight, 7 days, on 1800 33 4673. You can also webchat or email them at butterfly.org.au.

  • Love, Gender & the Rise of the Manosphere

This week Scott and Til dig into the Manosphere β€” what it is, why it's growing, and its ties to incel culture β€” not as a hard stance, just an honest, reflective chat about what they're both seeing and thinking. From there, Til pivots to reality TV's Love is Blind, using it to explore a bigger question: are men and women fundamentally wired differently in what we look for in a partner, or has that shifted with the times? A lighter, more playful take on a big topic.

They also touch briefly on the Lindsay Clancy trial and the conversation it's sparked among mothers about how much real postpartum support actually exists.

Content note: this episode briefly references the Lindsay Clancy case and postpartum mental health struggles. If you or someone you know needs support, PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia) offers a free, confidential National Helpline on 1300 726 306, Mon–Fri 9am–7:30pm and Sat 9am–4pm AEST. In a crisis, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Then it's Muck & Magic for the week's wins and struggles, before answering a listener question that's been flooding the inbox: why do The Good Farm Shop's meals keep selling out? Til and Scott break down what's really going on behind the scenes during a period of fast business growth.

Warm, honest, occasionally a little cheeky β€” welcome home.

  • Our parenting styles, and the ones we grew up with, under the microscope.

I saw a video telling parents to stop saying "good boy" or "good girl" β€” apparently because kids aren't dogs β€” and it sent us down a rabbit hole. This episode, we're unpacking the world of modern parenting styles: where they came from, what the research says, and why it feels like there's a new rule every week for raising a "trauma-free" child.

It all traces back to psychologist Diana Baumrind, who in the 1960s quietly observed real parents and kids and identified the styles we still use today β€” authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful. Then we turn the mirror on ourselves. Are we authoritative? Permissive? Some combination we've made up as we go? And how does it compare to how we were raised?

  • From My Kitchen Rules to Married with a Farm Shop, We're Getting Personal.

We're stepping away from the usual format this week and going Off the Clock β€” less about the business and more aboutΒ us.

We get into the honest stuff: what our actual first impressions of each other were, whose idea the farm shop really was (and who needed convincing), and the moment we both realised this whole business thing was actually happening. We also open up about Scott's journey since My Kitchen Rules, and Til's confession that β€” at the time β€” she genuinely didn't think he'd end up being her husband. Funny how things work out.

On the business side, instead of our usual deep dives, we're sharing our biggest "oopsie" yet β€” one of those decisions that felt fine in the moment and turned into a proper lesson.

No script, just us chewing the cud.

πŸ’¬ Got a question for us? Drop it below β€” we answer one every episode.
❀️ If you enjoy this one, share it, leave a comment, and if you've got a sec, a review would mean the world β€” it genuinely helps us grow.

  • Food Fraud, Cold Plunges & Letting Criticism Go

This episode we're covering a lot of ground. First up β€” the ABC Four Corners investigation "Duped," which digs into food fraud, food ethics, greenwashing claims, and what's actually in our food. We also ask whether cold therapy is still the trend it once was, or if it's quietly fading β€” and why. Til gets honest about the nerves that came with starting this podcast in the first place. Plus, our Muck & Magic: Scott's is the constant problem-solving that never really stops when you're running a business, and Til's is trying to get better at taking criticism β€” something she's not sure she'll ever fully master.

  • Where It All Started, Why Strength Training Is Trending, and Pros And Cons of GLP-1 Weight Loss Drugs

A weekly chat with the husband-and-wife team behind The Good Farm Shop. In our very first episode, we go back to the beginning β€” the career crossroads we were both standing at before The Good Farm Shop existed, and how we actually got here. We had zero business experience going into this β€” it was really a combination of pressure, timing, our combined skills, and a lot of passion that made it work (somehow). We also dig into two big topics on our radar right now: GLP-1 weight-loss drugs and the strength training trend taking over everyone's feeds (or is it just ours?). Plus, our Muck & Magic β€” Scott's got an ongoing injury, we had our biggest month on record... and we're launching something new. More on that soon! Next episode we'll answer an audience question... Have you got one?
