At 16, a doctor looked at his broken back and told him he'd never bowl fast again — he answered with a promise of two tickets to his first Test, and kept it. Brett Lee — 67th member of the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame, 2003 World Cup winner and bowler of the joint second-fastest delivery ever recorded — reveals what it took to outlast three career-ending verdicts, why he sold suits through his entire international career, and why he has staked his family's second act on Dubai.

Brett Lee took 718 international wickets for Australia across 76 Tests, 221 one-day internationals and 25 T20 internationals, and his 161.1 km/h delivery at Napier in 2005 remains the joint second-fastest ever recorded. Inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in December 2025, he is a commentator, the bassist of the band Six & Out — and, since 2025, a Dubai resident.
