Dr. Mark Chapman, assistant professor of integrated engineering at the University of San Diego, joined the "At the Edge of it All" podcast to discuss his research which looks at the effects of long-term endurance training and how it changes our muscles, and ultimately, our genes.

Jessica Heldman, Fellmeth-Peterson Professor in Residence in Child Rights at the Children’s Advocacy Institute (CAI) at University of San Diego School of Law, joined the "At the Edge of it All" podcast to discuss how a career as a teacher inspired her to get a law degree, what her team at CAI is doing to advocate for children and how social media is impacting their work.

His research looks into how people text and engage with one another and how the pandemic impacted how we connect with each other digitally.

Mental health is becoming something we talk about more and more, but there’s still progress to be made. Dr. Katie Lais, clinical associate professor at the Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science at USD, joined the “At the Edge of It All” podcast to talk about how unique challenges in her career have opened her eyes to innovative solutions. She explains how not only society — but the health care system itself — needs to change to better equip people with the tools they need to take care of their mental health.

Tammy Lin, supervising attorney at the University of San Diego Legal Clinics’ Immigration Clinic, joined the "At the Edge of it All" podcast to discuss what got her interested in asylum law, how immigration policies have changed over time, and how people can utilize help from USD's Immigration Clinic for free.
