The Atlanta Braves still hold the best record in baseball and have firm grasp on the National League East as September approaches.

Grant McAuley recaps the week that was for the Braves, which included more standout performances from the offense, some very welcome course corrections in the Atlanta rotation, some encouraging injury updates for Ozzie Albies, Kyle Wright and Jesse Chavez, as well as a look at how the club could handle the fifth (and perhaps sixth) spot in the starting rotation.

Hall of Famer John Smoltz shares his memories of the 1987 trade that brought him to the Braves organization and sent Tom Glavine to the big leagues some 36 years ago this month. He also discusses his broadcast career, the players only Bally Sports broadcast team that reunites this week, and discusses the potential of Spencer Strider.
