Verse 51

Shankaracharya asks, to light the lamp of Jnana inside the earthen pitcher of this body - that would glow in the incandescent light of the highest knowledge. But the light would not be visible to the naked eyes. There are no external parameters that would determine if one is enlightened or not.

Vedanta states that we mortals are same as Krishna and Rama. There is difference only at the level of Atma; level of awakening. The scripture Yoga-Vashishtha is devoted to Rama’s quest of jnana.

Knowledge of Atman is the same as knowledge of ‘I’, which is same as the knowledge of God(param atman). It is one and the same entity.

The light of knowledge illuminates the pitcher from inside; and at this plane of being, there is no difference between enlightened beings; they all are one.

By renouncing all the attachments to fleeting pleasures of the external world, and by not remaining enslaved to the senses and the material pursuits of the mind, one can remain established in the bliss of pure Self.

श्लोक 51:

शंकराचार्य जी कहते हैं कि शरीर रूपी घड़े के अंदर ज्ञान के दीपक को जलाओ। फल स्वरूप स्वयं में तृप्त हो जाओगे। और परमानंद में झूम उठोगे।

ऊपरी सतह पर - कौन आत्म ज्ञानी है? का निर्णय कर पाना कठिन है । इसके लिए कोई मापदंड भी नहीं है।

वेदांत के अनुसार - आम इंसान भी राम और कृष्ण की तरह ही है । फर्क केवल आत्मा के स्तर पर ही है। हम अज्ञान से धंसे हुए वो राम और कृष्ण है। जो अपनी अज्ञानता से भी अनभिज्ञ है।

योग वशिष्ठ ऐसा ही एक ग्रंथ है जिसमें राम की आध्यात्मिक जिज्ञासा का वर्णन है।

आतम ज्ञान /अपने बारे में ज्ञान/ परमात्मा यह सब एक ही है।

ज्ञान का दीपक शरीर रूपी घड़े को अंदर से प्रकाशित करता है। इस ज्ञान के स्तर पर सब ज्ञानी एक समान है।

बाहर के सुखों में आसक्ति भरी पड़ी है। इनसे निवृत्त होकर ही आत्म सुख का आनंद लिया जा सकता है।
