A tremendous week on BangTheBook Radio comes to a close with one more fine broadcast today. Host Adam Burke will chat with Philip Rossman-Reich from OrlandoMagicDaily.com about the Cavs and Celtics trade that sent Kyrie Irving to Boston and a nice collection of assets, including Isaiah Thomas, to Cleveland. They'll update the Eastern Conference and the NBA Finals odds and see what it means for teams like the Raptors and Wizards. Philip has additional bylines than just with the NBA, so the guys will also touch on Northwestern football a little bit.
Wes Reynolds will join us to discuss the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight coming up on Saturday night. He just got back from Las Vegas, so he'll be able to tell us what it's like out there and what he heard while he was bouncing around the books. He'll talk about some strategies for betting the fight and the guys will discuss the line moves and where the money will come in as the fight gets closer. Also, it's Week 3 of the NFL Preseason, so Wes will highlight some of those games and touch on his betting strategies for this week.

The Thursday Meeting show on BangTheBook Radio makes a return this week, as we welcome two outstanding professional handicappers to the broadcast. The first is Brad Powers of BradPowersSports.com and we'll focus on college football with him. The guys will chat about the four FBS matchups on tap for this weekend and also look at final tweaks to power ratings and subsequently how to adjust those power ratings as the season goes along. Power ratings are probably the best college football betting tool that you can have and that's why we'll focus on them again today.
Ralph Michaels of WagerTalk.com also joins us today and we'll mostly focus on the professionals with him, as we take a look at Week 3 of the NFL Preseason. As we all know, this is called the "Dress Rehearsal" week, so starters will play a half or into the third quarter. How does that change the way that you handicap these games? Should it change much of anything? Travel concerns are a big deal with a lot of weeknight games now, so we'll get Ralph's thoughts on some of the big games this weekend, including Chiefs vs. Seahawks and Thursday night's two games.

Those that were listening over the summer recall that we did a Tuesday Takeover show each week. Well, we might as well start referring to the Wednesday shows as our Sports Cheetah Takeover. That's perfectly fine with us because we've been able to spend about an hour with one of the best in the business each week and he certainly didn't disappoint on this broadcast. Host Adam Burke had a lot of things to discuss with Cheetah, including his newest venture, PodcastU.Vegas, which BangTheBook Radio will be a part of, and they also had a lot of game-related business to cover since the season starts on Saturday. Using Saturday's games and other Week 1 games as examples, Cheetah talked about how plays make the cut and also about whether or not his preseason futures and win total positions will have an impact on how he bets early in the season. Will he double down on those teams? Have oddsmakers adjusted accordingly? These segments with Cheetah are always very technical and that's what makes them so fun and informative.

College football starts on Saturday and we are going to do everything that we can to have you prepared for this week and beyond. On our Tuesday August 22 edition of BangTheBook Radio, we'll hear from professional handicapper and bettor Bryan Leonard of WagerTalk.com for this week's Sports Wagering Talk segment. We'll take a look at the futures and the Games of the Year bets that Bryan has placed and discuss what, if any, impact that has had on the betting lines and power ratings set by oddsmakers. They'll also talk about how to approach those teams going into the season. A quick look at the ACC will be an attempt to sort through the interchangeable Coastal Division. Finally, they'll look at Saturday's games with some quick thoughts and analysis.
In the second half of today's show, we'll focus on our conference specialization theme by chatting with Alex Nicolas of Miner Rush, the SB Nation home of the UTEP Miners. UTEP is a member of Conference USA, so we'll dig deep into that Group of Five conference to find some betting value on those teams. One is in action on Saturday, as Rice battles Stanford, so we'll talk about that game and also teams like Western Kentucky, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State, and Louisiana Tech.
