Every career has a story. Some are carefully planned. Some take unexpected turns. And some… blow up entirely — only to rebuild into something better than anyone imagined.
This is ‘Attend the Tale’...Where Career Change is the Best Plot Twist — the podcast where real people share the unfiltered story of their career pivots, the moments that changed everything, and the lessons that only come from living through it. Listen closely. The tale is about to begin. My guest today is my friend and colleague, Jennifer Kelly Campbell.
As a child, Jennifer knew she wanted to be a writer and storyteller. She wrote stories, comedy skits, and essays and won some awards in middle and high school. For reasons she will discuss today, she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in disciplines that were far less aligned with her true north. She became a career counselor to help others who received poor career-planning advice from family members or educators. She’s helped thousands of people achieve their dreams. She had a successful career in nonprofit and higher education administration, as well as philanthropy. Jennifer attended writing workshops and storytelling classes in her spare time. She saved money and retired as soon as she could to return to her dream of writing and storytelling full time.
**In the spirit of Halloween, Jennifer's audio has a background reverb/echo effect, which is fun but will not affect your ability to understand what she is saying. Enjoy!

This is a continuation (part 2) of Episode 1, with Cathlyn Stahl.
Cathlyn started her career in sport psychology, then found her way into education, where she discovered a knack for learning & development: building training programs and curriculum that helped people grow. That expertise carried into career coaching, where she's guided people from Olympic and Paralympic athletes to bootcamp grads through life's biggest transitions. At the core of it all, she's a helper: she believes in working with clients holistically, treating them as a person first and a job seeker second. Today, she's a Customer Success Manager, and when she's not helping someone through their next big change, she's likely at her easel painting flowers with a cat or two nearby.
