With Commissioner Oswald failing to alleviate the growing tensions in Attica events lead to an unplanned and spontaneous riot on the 9th of September 1971. Yet following the initial violence and chaos of the riot a number of prisoners take advantage of the situation and organize a protest of sorts to try and force the state of New York to improve the conditions of its prisons.
