Dr. Elizabeth Malm-Buatsi was selected as the South Central Section winner of the 2020 AUA Young Urologist of the Year Award for her for her efforts and commitment to advancing workforce diversity and mentorship, and her active involvement in the South Central Section and specialty societies.

Dr. Malm-Buatsi joins our podcast today to discuss her work and her thoughts on winning the award.

Since its inception in 2002, the Residents and Fellows Committee has represented the voice of trainee members of the AUA. The committee aims to advance the concerns and needs of medical students, residents and fellows to the AUA, its regional sections, and its affiliate organizations and partners abroad.

Today's guest is Dr. Meghan Cooper, winner of the 2020 AUA Residents and Fellows Committee Essay Contest. The AUA Residents and Fellows Committee Essay Contest is an annual competition that gives medical students, residents and fellows the opportunity to share their experience and insights on a particular theme through the power of the written word. 

John Fortin is a prostate cancer survivor and advocate. He is a retired Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, and specializes in healthcare data analytics including prostate cancer.

Currently, he serves as Patient Advocate Liaison to the AUA Public Policy Council. Also, he co-hosts a prostate cancer support group in Atlanta, is a part-time journalist for UroToday, and serves on a national Active Surveillance working group.

Yuval Dan Bar-Or, PhD, joins the AUA Inside Tract Podcast to discuss personal financial advice for healthcare providers and medical professionals. 

Dr. Bar-Or is the founder of the Pillars of Wealth personal finance literacy initiative for medical professionals. He is an Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School in Baltimore.
