Aubrey carried the weight of the shame and guilt of what had been done to her as a child. By her teens, the pain had found a new language: substances that promised relief but delivered only deeper darkness, stealing years she can now only half-remember. Recovery didn't arrive as a single moment of clarity but as a slow, grueling climb — therapy that cracked her open, support groups where strangers understood what words alone couldn't explain, and the hard, necessary  stepwork. Now, Aubrey doesn't describe her life as healed or perfect — she calls it hers, and today, that is more than enough.
