    ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਈਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਲਾਗੋ ਭਾਉ ॥ ਓਸ ਨੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਉਪਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਉ ਗੇੜਾ ਆਵਉ ਜਾਉ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥੧॥ਅਰਥ: ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ, ਭਾਵੇਂ (ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸ) ਸੌ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਵੇ ਜਾਏ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਵ ਜੋੜੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਏ ਮਨ ਐਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਸਹਸਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇ ॥ ਕੂੜੈ ਕੀ ਪਾਲਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਨਿਕਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਚ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਲੱਭ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ; ਕਦੇ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ (ਉਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਸੜ ਜਾਏ; ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕੂੜ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਹਰੀ ਆ ਵੱਸੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ) ਸੰਜਮ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ।ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ (ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਮੁਠੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਇਆ ॥ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਤਲਕੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਦੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਨਿ ਸਭਿ ਆਣਿ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ਅਰਥ: ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਸਭ ਦਾ) ਹਾਕਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਕਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, (ਸਗੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ (ਹੁੰਦਾ) ਹੈ।ਮਾਣਸਾ ਕਿਅਹੁ ਦੀਬਾਣਹੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਸਿ ਭਜਿ ਨਿਕਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਣਹੁ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਥੈ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਨੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਰਹਦੇ ਖੁਹਦੇ ਆਣਿ ਸਭਿ ਭਗਤਾ ਅਗੈ ਖਲਵਾਇਆ ॥ਅਰਥ: ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੱਸ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਖਿਸਕ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਹਰੀ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ "ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਖੁੰਹਦੇ" ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਖੜੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ) ।ਹਰਿ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਿਨੈ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੧੪॥ਅਰਥ: ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ (ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੁਣ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ (ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧੪।SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:One who has no faith in the True Guru, and who does not love the Word of the Shabad, shall find no peace, even though he may come and go hundreds of times. O Nanak, the Gurmukh meets the True Lord with natural ease; he is in love with the Lord. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: O mind, search for such a True Guru, by serving whom the pains of birth and death are dispelled. Doubt shall never afflict you, and your ego shall be burnt away through the Word of the Shabad. The veil of falsehood shall be torn down from within you, and Truth shall come to dwell in the mind. Peace and happiness shall fill your mind deep within, if you act according to truth and self-discipline. O Nanak, by perfect good karma, you shall meet the True Guru, and then the Dear Lord, by His Sweet Will, shall bless you with His Mercy. || 2 || PAUREE: The whole world comes under the control of one whose home is filled with the Lord, the King. He is subject to no one else’s rule, and the Lord, the King, causes everyone to fall at his feet. One may run away from the courts of other men, but where can one go to escape the Lord’s Kingdom? The Lord is such a King, who abides in the hearts of His devotees; He brings the others, and makes them stand before His devotees.     ਗੂਜਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੩    ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਦੂਧੁ ਤ ਬਛਰੈ ਥਨਹੁ ਬਿਟਾਰਿਓ ॥ ਫੂਲੁ ਭਵਰਿ ਜਲੁ ਮੀਨਿ ਬਿਗਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਮਾਈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਹਾ ਲੈ ਚਰਾਵਉ ॥ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਫੂਲੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਮੈਲਾਗਰ ਬੇਰ੍ਹੇ ਹੈ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਾ ॥ ਬਿਖੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਸਹਿ ਇਕ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੨॥ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਨਈਬੇਦਹਿ ਬਾਸਾ ॥ ਕੈਸੇ ਪੂਜ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਸਾ ॥੩॥ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਪੂਜ ਚਰਾਵਉ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੪॥ ਪੂਜਾ ਅਰਚਾ ਆਹਿ ਨ ਤੋਰੀ ॥ ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਕਵਨ ਗਤਿ ਮੋਰੀ ॥੫॥੧॥ 
    ਅਰਥ: ਦੁੱਧ ਤਾਂ ਥਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਵੱਛੇ ਨੇ ਜੂਠਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਫੁੱਲ ਭੌਰੇ ਨੇ (ਸੁੰਘ ਕੇ) ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੇ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਸੋ, ਦੁੱਧ ਫੁੱਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਜੂਠੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗੇ ਨਾਹ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ)।੧।
    ਹੇ ਮਾਂ! ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਾਂ? ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਸੁੱਚਾ) ਫੁੱਲ (ਆਦਿਕ ਮਿਲ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਸਕਦਾ)। ਕੀ ਮੈਂ (ਇਸ ਘਾਟ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂਗਾ?।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
    ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇ ਬੂਟਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਪ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਦਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਠਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ) , ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ (ਭੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।੨।
    ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਆ ਜਾਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਤੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਭੀ (ਜੂਠੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) , (ਫਿਰ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਜੂਠੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ) ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ?।੩।
    (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ; (ਇਸੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਰਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੪।
    ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਦੁੱਧ, ਫੁੱਲ, ਧੂਪ, ਚੰਦਨ ਤੇ ਨੈਵੇਦ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਸ਼ੈਆਂ ਸੁੱਚੀਆਂ ਨਾਹ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮੈਥੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੋ ਹੀ ਨਾਹ ਸਕਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਕੀਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ?।੫।੧।
    ਭਾਵ: ਲੋਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਜਲ, ਫੁੱਲ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਆਦਿਕ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਪਰ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੂਠੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭੇਟ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

I cannot find any other flowers worthy of the incomparable Lord. || 1 || Pause || The snakes encircle the sandalwood trees. Poison and nectar dwell there together. || 2 || Even with incense, lamps, offerings of food and fragrant flowers, how are Your slaves to worship You? || 3 || I dedicate and offer my body and mind to You. By Guru’s Grace, I attain the immaculate Lord. || 4 || I cannot worship You, nor offer You flowers. Says Ravi Daas, what shall my condition be hereafter? || 5 || 1 |

     ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਤਹ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਮਨਾ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਨਾਸੁ ਮਨਾ ॥ ਕਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਜਨੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਜਨੁ ਦੁਖ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਨਾਸੇ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਕਟੈ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਫਾਸੇ ॥ ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗੇ ਤਹਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸੋ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਧਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਨਿਵਾਸੋ ॥੧॥
    ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ) ਦੇ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗਾ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ (ਹਰਿ-ਸਰ ਵਿਚ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ। (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਗਤਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਮਿੱਤਰ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ) ਕੱਟ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਕਰ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
    ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ।੧।
    ਤਹ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਸਦਾ ਅਨਹਦ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਜੈਕਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਖਸਮ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਰੰਗਿ ਭਿੰਨੀਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਿਆ ॥ ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਦਇਆ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣਕਾਰੋ ॥੨॥
    ਅਰਥ: ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਰੌ ਚਲੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖ਼ਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰਸ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ (ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਚਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ (ਮੁੜ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਰੌ ਚਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ।੨।
    ਸੁਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਤਿਨੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ॥ ਅਮਰੁ ਥੀਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਨ ਮੂਆ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਾ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੇ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਾਈ ਤਜਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਈਐ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ 
    ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ! ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰ। ਇਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਉਸ (ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ) ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
    (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਅਟੱਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜਦਾ, ਉਹ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਝਗੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਕਦੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।੩।
    ਮਨ ਤਨ ਗਲਤੁ ਭਏ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਅੜਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਲੀਆ ਸਮਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ਮਿਲਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜੋਤੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤੀ ਉਦਕੁ ਉਦਕਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਏਕੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਨਹ ਦੂਜਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਇਆ ॥ ਬਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਜ

    ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਦਇਆ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
    (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਾਣੀ (ਢੋਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪੱਖਾ (ਝੱਲਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਆਟਾ) ਪੀਂਹਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੁਖ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ।੧।
    ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਏ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਮੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਮੈਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਾਂ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਦਿੱਸੇਂ।੨।
    ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਰਾਜ-ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣ ਲਏ ਹਨ।੩।
    ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹੀ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਉਹੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹੀ ਜਾਣੋ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪੂਰੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਜ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।੧੦।
    DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:
    I carry the water, wave the fan, and grind the corn for the Saints; I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. With each and every breath, my mind remembers the Naam, the Name of the Lord; in this way, it finds the treasure of peace. || 1 || Have pity on me, O my Lord and Master. Bless me with such understanding, O my Lord and Master, that I may forever and ever meditate on You. || 1 || Pause || By Your Grace, emotional attachment and egotism are eradicated, and doubt is dispelled. The Lord, the embodiment of bliss, is pervading and permeating in all; wherever I go, there I see Him. || 2 || You are kind and compassionate, the treasure of mercy, the Purifier of sinners, Lord of the world. I obtain millions of joys, comforts and kingdoms, if You inspire me to chant Your Name with my mouth, even for an instant. || 3 || That alone is perfect chanting, meditation, penance and devotional worship service, which is pleasing to God’s Mind. Chanting the Naam, all thirst and desire is satisfied; Nanak is satisfied and fulfilled. || 4 || 10 ||

    ਹੀਂ (ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ) ।੧੧।
    SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:
    O Shaykh, you wander in the four directions, blown by the four winds, bring your mind back to the home of the One Lord. Renounce your petty arguments, and realize the Word of the Guru s Shabad. Bow in humble respect before the True Guru, He is the Knower who knows everything. Burn away your hopes and desires, and live like a guest in this world. If you walk in harmony with the True Guru s Will, then you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. O Nanak, those who do not contemplate the Naam, the Name of the Lord - cursed are their clothes, and cursed is their food. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: There is no end to the Lord,s Glorious Praises; His worth cannot be described. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord; they are absorbed in His Glorious Virtues. || 2 || PAUREE: The Lord has adorned the coat of the body; He has embroidered it with devotional worship. The Lord has woven His silk into it, in so many ways and fashions. How rare is that man of understanding, who understands, and deliberates within. He alone understands these deliberations, whom the Lord Himself inspires to understand. Poor servant Nanak speaks: the Gurmukhs know the Lord, the Lord is True. || 11 ||

    ਬੈਰਾੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਨ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਬੋਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਧਾਤੂ ਪੰਚ ਆਪਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਝਗਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੩॥
    ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
    ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ) ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਮਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ) ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧।
    ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ) ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ) ਖਿੱਚੋਤਾਣ ਮੁਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।੩।
    BAIRAAREE, FOURTH MEHL:
    The Lord’s humble servant sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name. Even if someone slanders the Lord’s humble servant, he does not give up his own goodness. || 1 || Pause || Whatever the Lord and Master does, He does by Himself; the Lord Himself does the deeds. The Lord and Master Himself imparts understanding; the Lord Himself inspires us to speak. || 1 || The Lord Himself directs the evolution of the world of the five elements; He Himself infuses the five senses into it. O servant Nanak, the Lord Himself unites us with the True Guru; He Himself resolves the conflicts. || 2 || 3 ||

    SHALOK, THIRD MEHL:
    He acts according to pre-ordained destiny, written by the Creator Himself. Emotional attachment has drugged him, and he has forgotten the Lord, the treasure of virtue. Don t think that he is alive in the world he is dead, through the love of duality. Those who do not meditate on the Lord, as Gurmukh, are not permitted to sit near the Lord. They suffer the most horrible pain and suffering, and neither their sons nor their wives go along with them. Their faces are blackened among men, and they sigh in deep regret. No one places any reliance in the self willed manmukhs; trust in them is lost. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs live in absolute peace; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within them. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: They alone are relatives, and they alone are friends, who, as Gurmukh, join together in love. Night and day, they act according to the True Guru s Will; they remain absorbed in the True Name. Those who are attached to the love of duality are not called friends; they practice egotism and corruption. The self willed manmukhs are selfish; they cannot resolve anyone s affairs. O Nanak, they act according to their pre-ordained destiny; no one can erase it. || 2 || PAUREE: You Yourself created the world, and You Yourself arranged the play of it. You Yourself created the three qualities, and fostered emotional attachment to Maya. He is called to account for his deeds done in egotism; he continues coming and going in reincarnation. The Guru instructs those whom the Lord Himself blesses with Grace. I am a sacrifice to my Guru; forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him. || 3 ||

    The daily Hukamnama Sahib from Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar including English and Punjabi translation audiooਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਈ ਮਤਿ ਮਧਿਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਪਟੋ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਪਟੇ ਖਪਹਿ ਖਪਾਹੀ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਆਪਣੈ ਸੁਆਇ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ਮਃ ੪ ॥ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮਨੂਆ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਲਤ ਰਹਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਖਪਹਿ ਖਪਾਹਿ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਦੁਖੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਿ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ ਸੇਈ ਬਿਚਖਣ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਏ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹਰਿ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਨਾਇਆ ॥੨੬॥ ਅਰਥ: (ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਅਕਲਿ ਹੋਛੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਦਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ; ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧੋਖਾ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧੋਖਾ ਹੀ ਧੋਖਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਆਪ) ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਭਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ) ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।੧। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਦਾ; ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਪ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੋਭ-ਰੂਪ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ; ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਸਦਾ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹਰੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲਏ।੨।ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਹਨ, ਭਗਤ ਹਨ ਉਹੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਹਨ।ਉਹੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ-ਰੂਪ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰੀ (ਦੇ ਭਜਨ-ਰੂਪ) ਤੀਰਥ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੨੬। SHALOK, FOURTH MEHL: He has spiritual ignorance within, and his intellect is dull and dim; he does not place his faith in the True Guru. He has deceit within himself, and so he sees deception in all others; through his deceptions, he is totally ruined. The True Guru’s Will does not enter into his consciousness, and so he wanders around, pursuing his own interests. If He grants His Grace, then Nanak is absorbed into the Word of the Shabad. || 1 || FOURTH MEHL: The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in emotional attachment to Maya; in the love of duality, their minds are unsteady. Night and day, they are burning; day and night, they are totally ruined by their egotism. Within them, is the total pitch darkness of greed, and no one even approaches them. They themselves are miserable, and they never find peace; they are born, only to die, and die again. O Nanak, the True Lord God forgives those, who focus their consciousness on the Guru’s feet. || 2 || PAUREE: That Saint, that devotee, is acceptable, who is loved by God. Those beings are wise, who meditate on the Lord. They eat the food, the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. They apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to their foreheads.
