Audio Gurbani (Blessed Day)

ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ-੨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ,ਹੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਅੱਖਾਂ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ,ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਜਾਗ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਏ।

ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਜਨ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਵੀ ਆਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ-੨,ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ।ਇਹ ਕੰਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ-੨ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸੁਣਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਨੇ।

ਹਲਟ ਚਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ,ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਖੂਹ ਨੇ,ਗੇੜਵੇਂ ਖੂਹ।ਮਰਦਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਲੱਗੀ,ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਖੂਹ ਤੋਂ,ਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ,

"ਇਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗੇੜਵਾਂ ਖੂਹ ਅੈ,ਮਰਦਾਨਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਪਿਆ ਬੋਲਦੈ।"

ਤੋ ਮਰਦਾਨਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ,

"ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ! ਇੰਝ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਏ,ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਸੂਮ ਬੱਚਾ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ,ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੈ।"

ਗੇੜਵੇਂ ਖੂਹ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਏ।

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ,ਨਈਂ,

"ਹਰਹਟ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਭਲੀ ਬਾਣਿ॥"

ਮਰਦਾਨਿਆਂ ਇਥੋਂ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਏ,ਅੈਥੇ ਵੀ ਭਜਨ ਹੋ ਰਿਹੈ,ਅੈਥੇ ਵੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਏ।

"ਜੋ ਬੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮੀਨ ਪੰਖੇਰੂ

ਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪਤ ਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰ॥"

ਇਹ ਕੰਨ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ,ਜੋ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਨੇ।ਇਹ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ,ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੱਕ ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ,ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ।ਅੌਰ ਇਹ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਅੈ,ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਏ,ਉਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਤਨਾ ਬੋਲਣੈ,ਗਿਆਨ ਹੀ ਅੈ,ਜਿਤਨਾ ਬੋਲਣੈ,ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ,ਔਰ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਕਹਿਣੈ,ਉਹਦੇ 'ਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਰੂਰ ਹੈ,ਉਹਦੇ 'ਚ ਕੁਛ ਮਸਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ) ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਮਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ) ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ) ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ) ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ) ਖਿੱਚੋਤਾਣ ਮੁਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।੩।

BAIRAAREE, FOURTH MEHL:

The Lord’s humble servant sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name. Even if someone slanders the Lord’s humble servant, he does not give up his own goodness. || 1 || Pause || Whatever the Lord and Master does, He does by Himself; the Lord Himself does the deeds. The Lord and Master Himself imparts understanding; the Lord Himself inspires us to speak. || 1 || The Lord Himself directs the evolution of the world of the five elements; He Himself infuses the five senses into it. O servant Nanak, the Lord Himself unites us with the True Guru; He Himself resolves the conflicts. || 2 || 3 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਜਗਤ (ਦਾ ਮੋਹ-) ਜਾਲ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ) ਚੀੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਆਪ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਰਨ ਆਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਜੇਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਐਬ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗ਼ਮ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਭਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।੩।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਏ, ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ।੪।੨੨।੨੮।

ਨੋਟ: ਸਾਰਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ "ਭੂਤ ਕਾਲ" ਵਿਚ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ 'ਸਦਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ' ਸਮਝਣਾ ਹੈ। ਅਰਥ 'ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਕਾਲ' ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਹੈ।

SOOHEE, FIFTH MEHL:

God covers the many shortcomings of His slaves. Granting His Mercy, God makes them His own. || 1 || You emancipate Your humble servant, and rescue him from the noose of the world, which is just a dream. || 1 || Pause || Even huge mountains of sin and corruption are removed in an instant by the Merciful Lord. || 2 || Sorrow, disease and the most terrible calamities are removed by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. || 3 || Bestowing His Glance of Grace, He attaches us to the hem of His robe. Grasping the Lord’s Feet, O Nanak, we enter His Sanctuary. || 4 || 22 || 28 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਗਨਕਾ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਣੋਂ) ਬਚ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ, (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ (ਗਜ ਨੇ) ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਉਹ ਗਜ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਤੰਦੂਏ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੱਸਾਂ? ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ (ਹਾਥੀ) ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਸਨ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਾਮਲ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਸੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚਿਤਵਨੀਆਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ। ਤੂੰ ਭੀ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ।੩।੪।

SORAT’H, NINTH MEHL:

O mind, contemplate the Sanctuary of God. Meditating on Him in remembrance, Ganika the prostitute was saved; enshrine His Praises within your heart. || 1 || Pause || Meditating on Him in remembrance, Dhroo became immortal, and obtained the state of fearlessness. The Lord and Master removes suffering in this way — why have you forgotten Him? || 1 || As soon as the elephant took to the protective Sanctuary of the Lord, the ocean of mercy, he escaped from the crocodile. How much can I describe the Glorious Praises of the Naam? Whoever chants the Lord’s Name, his bonds are broken. || 2 || Ajaamal, known throughout the world as a sinner, was redeemed in an instant. Says Nanak, remember the Chintaamani, the jewel which fulfills all desires, and you too shall be carried across and saved. || 3 || 4 ||

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

Intoxicated with the wine of youth, I did not realize that I was only a guest at my parents’ home (in this world). My consciousness is polluted with faults and mistakes; without the Guru, virtue does not even enter into me. I have not known the value of virtue; I have been deluded by doubt. I have wasted away my youth in vain. I have not known my Husband Lord, His celestial home and gate, or the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. I have not had the pleasure of my Husband Lord’s celestial peace. After consulting the True Guru, I have not walked on the Path; the night of my life is passing away in sleep. O Nanak, in the prime of my youth, I am a widow; without my Husband Lord, the soul-bride is wasting away. || 1 || O father, give me in marriage to the Lord; I am pleased with Him as my Husband. I belong to Him. He is pervading throughout the four ages, and the Word of His Bani permeates the three worlds. The Husband Lord of the three worlds ravishes and enjoys His virtuous brides, but He keeps the ungraceful and unvirtuous ones far away. As are our hopes, so are our minds’ desires, which the All-pervading Lord brings to fulfillment. The bride of the Lord is forever happy and virtuous; she shall never be a widow, and she shall never have to wear dirty clothes. O Nanak, I love my True Husband Lord; my Beloved is the same, age after age. || 2 || O Baba, calculate that auspicious moment, when I too shall be going to my in-laws’ house. The moment of that marriage will be set by the Hukam of God’s Command; His Will cannot be changed. The karmic record of past deeds, written by the Creator Lord, cannot be erased by anyone. The most respected member of the marriage party, my Husband, is the independent Lord of all beings, pervading and permeating the three worlds. Maya, crying out in pain, leaves, seeing that the bride and the groom are in love. O Nanak, the peace of the Mansion of God’s Presence comes through the True Word of the Shabad; the bride keeps the Guru’s Feet enshrined in her mind. || 3 || My father has given me in marriage far away, and I shall not return to my parents’ home. I am delighted to see my Husband Lord near at hand; in His Home, I am so beautiful. My True Beloved Husband Lord desires me; He has joined me to Himself, and made my intellect pure and sublime. By good destiny I met Him, and was given a place of rest; through the Guru’s Wisdom, I have become virtuous. I gather lasting Truth and contentment in my lap, and my Beloved is pleased with my truthful speech. O Nanak, I shall not suffer the pain of separation; through the Guru’s Teachings, I merge into the loving embrace of the Lord’s Being. || 4 || 1 ||

Wandering and roaming around, I met the Holy Perfect Guru, who has taught me. All other devices did not work, so I meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. || 1 || For this reason, I sought the Protection and Support of my Lord, the Cherisher of the Universe. I sought the Sanctuary of the Perfect Transcendent Lord, and all my entanglements were dissolved. || Pause || Paradise, the earth, the nether regions of the underworld, and the globe of the world ó all are engrossed in Maya. To save your soul, and liberate all your ancestors, meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. || 2 || O Nanak, singing the Naam, the Name of the Immaculate Lord, all treasures are obtained. Only that rare person, whom the Lord and Master blesses with His Grace, comes to know this. || 3 || 3 || 21 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਕਿ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ) ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਭੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। (ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ) ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਜੰਜਾਲ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਦੇਵ ਲੋਕ, ਮਾਤ-ਲੋਕ, ਪਾਤਾਲ-ਸਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਫਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿੰਦ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।੨।

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ (ਇਹ ਭੇਤ) ਕਿਸੇ (ਉਸ) ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।੩।੨੧।

That union with the Lord is acceptable, which is united in intuitive poise. Thereafter, one does not die, and does not come and go in reincarnation. The Lord’s slave is in the Lord, and the Lord is in His slave. Wherever I look, I see none other than the Lord. || 1 || The Gurmukhs worship the Lord, and find His celestial home. Without meeting the Guru, they die, and come and go in reincarnation. || 1 || Pause || So make Him your Guru, who implants the Truth within you, who leads you to speak the Unspoken Speech, and who merges you in the Word of the Shabad. God’s people have no other work to do; they love the True Lord and Master, and they love the Truth. || 2 || The mind is in the body, and the True Lord is in the mind. Merging into the True Lord, one is absorbed into Truth. God’s servant bows at His feet. Meeting the True Guru, one meets with the Lord. || 3 || He Himself watches over us, and He Himself makes us see. He is not pleased by stubborn-mindedness, nor by various religious robes. He fashioned the body-vessels, and infused the Ambrosial Nectar into them; God’s Mind is pleased only by loving devotional worship. || 4 || Reading and studying, one becomes confused, and suffers punishment. By great cleverness, one is consigned to coming and going in reincarnation. One who chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and eats the food of the Fear of God becomes Gurmukh, the Lord’s servant, and remains absorbed in the Lord. || 5 || He worships stones, dwells at sacred shrines of pilgrimage and in the jungles, wanders, roams around and becomes a renunciate. But his mind is still filthy — how can he become pure? One who meets the True Lord obtains honor. || 6 || One who embodies good conduct and contemplative meditation, his mind abides in intuitive poise and contentment, since the beginning of time, and throughout the ages. In the twinkling of an eye, he saves millions. Have mercy on me, O my Beloved, and let me meet the Guru. || 7 || Unto whom, O God, should I praise You? Without You, there is no other at all. As it pleases You, keep me under Your Will. Nanak, with intuitive poise and natural love, sings Your Glorious Praises. || 8 || 2 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਉਹ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਏ ਰਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨਾ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ। ਅਜੇਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਜੇਹੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਜਿੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।੧।

ਮੈਂ (ਭੀ) ਉਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ (ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਿਕਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਅਕੱਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਾਵੇ, ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਵੇ।

ਅਰਥ: (ਜਗਤ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਕੰਬਦੀ ਹੈ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਮੈਂ ਮਿੰਨਤਾਂ ਕਰਾਂ। (ਸੋ, ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।੧।

(ਫਿਰ ਉਹ) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਦੇ ਤਰਲੇ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਦੇ ਅੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਨਿੱਤ ਇਉਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਉਸ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਆਖ਼ਰ ਉਹੀ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ (ਉਸ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਦਿਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ, ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ (ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਹ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਐਸਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤਰਨ ਲਈ) ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਮੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗਦਾ। ਨਾਨਕ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਉਸ (ਮਾਲਿਕ) ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਖਿਨ ਖਿਨ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੪।

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਖਿਨ ਖਿਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਰਤਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਧਰਿਓ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥਾ ॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਉਤਰੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਰਿਨੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਭਿ ਅਰਥਾ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੂੜ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਫਾਥਾ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਨ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਤਿਨ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਥਾ ॥੨॥ ਜਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਣ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਫਲਿਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਸੁ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥਾ ॥੩॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਗਿਆਨਹੀਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਿਉ ਚਾਲਹ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪੰਥਾ ॥ ਹਮ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਚਲੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਚਲਹ ਮਿਲੰਥਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ 

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ) । (ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆ ਰਹੁ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਹੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ, ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।

(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰਤਨ (ਵਰਗਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ) ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰੋਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਖਸਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਥ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ।੩।

ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਅਸੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਨਿ੍ਹਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਫੜਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਅਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਸਕੀਏ।੪।੧।

The Jewel of the Lord’s Name abides within my heart; the Guru has placed His hand on my forehead. The sins and pains of countless incarnations have been cast out. The Guru has blessed me with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and my debt has been paid off. || 1 || O my mind, vibrate the Lord’s Name, and all your affairs shall be resolved. The Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord’s Name within me; without the Name, life is useless. || Pause || Without the Guru, the self-willed manmukhs are foolish and ignorant; they are forever entangled in emotional attachment to Maya. They never serve the feet of the Holy; their lives are totally useless. || 2 || Those who serve at the feet of the Holy, the feet of the Holy, their lives are made fruitful, and they belong to the Lord. Make me the slave of the slave of the slaves of the Lord; bless me with Your Mercy, O Lord of the Universe. || 3 || I am blind, ignorant and totally without wisdom; how can I walk on the Path? I am blind — O Guru, please let me grasp the hem of Your robe, so that servant Nanak may walk in harmony with You. || 4 || 1 ||

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਲ ਪਰਤ ਰਹੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ (ਤੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਾਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ।ਰਹਾਉ।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਢ-ਕਦੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ (ਪਿਆਰ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ, ਸਗੋਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ, ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਜਿਸ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਸਾਡਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਤੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ (ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ) ਆਪ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।੧੬।੪੪।

SORAT’H, FIFTH MEHL:

He did not take my accounts into account; such is His forgiving nature. He gave me His hand, and saved me and made me His own; forever and ever, I enjoy His Love. || 1 || The True Lord and Master is forever merciful and forgiving. My Perfect Guru has bound me to Him, and now, I am in absolute ecstasy. || Pause || The One who fashioned the body and placed the soul within, who gives you clothing and nourishment — He Himself preserves the honor of His slaves. Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. || 2 || 16 || 44 ||
