Guarding our hearts and minds means practicing bringing the bigness of redemption into the small ugly sin-ridden places we find ourselves. We begin with a posture of belonging that flows into a heart of thanksgiving.

Prayer of petition is such a strange dialogue. We pray for the things that make us fearful to be removed, and God answers by reassuring us that our lives, in all the various circumstances, have purpose and that we belong to him. Prayer is not the heart changing the sovereign story it is the heart embracing the Sovereign story.

Which lens is best for making sense of our world - the lens of our time and our wisdom, or the lens given to us by the Ancient of Days?

Fear stems from an unguarded heart and mind. Faithfulness is a heart and mind guarded by the peace of God in Christ.
