Audio walking tour of East London

Exit Liverpool Street Station via Bishopsgate West exit (near WH Smith). You will come out opposite Bishopsgate Police Station. Then cross Bishopsgate. Walk to Artillery Lane, which is the first turn on the right after the Woodin's Shade Pub.

Follow Artillery Lane round to the right (approximately 130m). Artillery Passage is at the bottom on the right (Alexander Boyd Tailoring shop is on the corner).

Walk up Artillery Passage. Continue to the top of Widegate Street (past the King's Store Pub). Turn left onto Middlesex Street (opposite the Shooting Star Pub). Continue to the junction with Wentworth Street (on the left).

Turn left up Wentworth Street then turn left up Bell Lane. Turn right up Brune Street (opposite the Sainsbury's Local).

Walk to the far end of Brune Street. Turn left onto Toynbee Street and up to Commercial Street. Christ Church is approximately 50m up on the right.

Walk past Christ Church and turn first right down Fournier Street (The 10 Bells Pub is on the corner). Walk to the junction of Wilkes Street (on the left).

Go up Wilkes Street. Turn right down Princelet Street. Then turn right on to Brick Lane. The Mosque is 30m up on the right-hand side.

Follow Brick Lane (right past Mosque) for 250m (at the end Brick Lane becomes Osborn Street) to Whitechapel Road. Altab Ali Park on the opposite side of Whitechapel Road, between White Church Lane and Adler Street.

At the East London Mosque cross over Whitechapel Road at the traffic lights, turn right and walk 100m up to the junction of Fulbourne Street (on the left).

Continue walking 280m up Whitechapel Road (past the Blind Beggar Pub and junction of Cambridge Heath Road) until it becomes Mile End Road. Mile End Waste is parallel to the shops on the left-hand side (opposite Nandos). The William Booth statue marks the
