We all have our vices that affect our health and how we experience the world.
Smoking. Hard drugs. Alcohol. Coffee. Sugar.
….and some of the sneakiest ones are those we are handed to us by our doctors.
The opioid addiction has gotten a lot of attention over the last few years, but as more and more of us lean into our authenticity and crave a fulfilling life, we forget to talk about some of the prescribed medications that subtly affect us.
That’s where my talk with Audrey Stimpson comes in.
Audrey is an internationally published master photographer by trade who has now made it her sole mission to share her story of Adderall addiction and how she freed herself after 23 years.
She was prescribed Adderall to treat her ADHD from the age of 7, the same year the drug first entered the market, making her one of the longest case studies.
Audrey was using Adderall to Slay!
But after 23 years, the amphetamine had taken its toll, leading to psychosis, gut health issues, body dysmorphia, Addorexia, and a never-ending cycle of shame.
Her story is not only one of hope and triumph, but a complete mindset shift if you live your life on the little orange pill.
Listen to today’s episode of The Being Human podcast to hear how Audrey embraced her #AdderallFree life, and maybe you’ll find a way to change your circumstances if that’s something that’s been on your mind lately.
(Which it probably is since you clicked this far.)
