Microsoft announced that it acquired Clipchamp, an in-browser video creation startup founded in Brisbane, Australia. While the terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, Chris Pratley, CVP of Microsoft’s office media group, said that the purchase would enable Microsoft to incorporate Clipchamp’s technology with Windows.
Virtual meeting platform called Vowel has announced that it raised $13.5 million in a series A round led by Lobby Capital. During the pandemic, videoconferencing saw a 535% rise in daily traffic. The virtual meeting software market is expected to reach $41.58 billion by 2027. The fund will be put toward product development and expanding the size of Vowel’s team.
DigitalOcean, a cloud infrastructure company has announced the acquisition of Nimbella, a three-year-old startup which simplifies multicloud serverless software development. DigitalOcean, best known for its infrastructure-as-a-service platform, that helps software developers deploy and scale applications across multiple cloud servers. With the acquisition, DigitalOcean will be able complement its current PaaS and IaaS offerings with Nimbella’s serverless compute tools.
Leading web accessibility company UserWay has brought its AI Powered Accessibility Widget to the Duda app store. The Addition of the UserWay AI widget, will enhance the professional website building platform, by altering any website to make it accessible and ADA compliant. This is done by modifying both elements on the site and any inaccessible code that would otherwise limit visitors with disabilities. This creates a more user-friendly experience for the one billion people living with disabilities worldwide.
IBM has announced the new IBM Power E1080 server, designed specifically for hybrid cloud environments. First in a new series of servers based on the new IBM Power 10 processor, the Power E1080 is engineered to be one of the most secured server platforms and is designed to help clients operate a secured, frictionless hybrid cloud experience across their entire IT infrastructure.
Flipspaces, a technology-enabled interior designer for office spaces, has announced a fund raise of $2 million. The funding was led by former IIFL AMC CEO Prashasta Seth. The capital will be used to grow the US business, where the Mumbai-based startup claims to have seen 25X growth and expand its newly launched software-as-a-service vertical.
RainFocus, the next-generation enterprise event marketing platform, today announced that it has closed its Series C funding round led by KKR, a leading global investment firm. RainFocus provides a premier end-to-end solution for setting up, running, and promoting events.
“Indonesia-only” investment firm Intudo Ventures, closed its third fund, totaling $115 million. Intudo intends to invest in about 12 to 14 startups, in sectors like agriculture, B2B and enterprise, education, finance and insurance, healthcare and logistics. Initial check sizes will range from $1 million to $10 million.
Seqera Labs, a Barcelona-based data orchestration and workflow platform, has raised $5.5 million in seed funding. The company’s technology treats each source of data across different clouds, without that data ever leaving the boundaries of the infrastructure where it already exists.
