Consider the following statement:

As a follower of Jesus Christ, our calling is to be salt and
light within our culture and society.

Do you believe that? Why or why not?

I believe it to be the truth.

After receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior our ultimate
calling is to be salt and light within our culture and society.

Being salt and light means:

• Being ready to share the gospel.
• Living a life that exudes the love of Jesus Christ.
• Living a life that accurately represents Jesus Christ.
• Engaging in the previous three points regardless of the
  pressure or danger which may be present.

Let me rephrase and emphasize this point:

The fact that we receive pushback or experience persecution from our culture and society does not excuse us from operating as the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus Christ in this lost world.
