Preacher: Deacon Stephanie Anderson. Preaching Text: Matthew 21:1-11. Sermon Title: Humility on Parade. Today we enter Jerusalem with Jesus, joining a crowd that dares to hope, to protest, and to proclaim: “Hosanna! Save us!” What looks like a simple parade is anything but. Jesus intentionally stages a different kind of procession; one that challenges the dominant powers of the world and reveals a kingdom rooted in humility, justice, and peace. As we wave palms today, we stand at the threshold of Holy Week: the most sacred and unsettling story of our faith. What begins in celebration will move quickly into tension, confrontation, and grief. We will witness love embodied in acts of service, truth spoken in the face of power, and a cross that exposes the cost of faithful resistance. We are invited not to rush ahead, but to walk the story together, trusting that even in the shadow of the cross, God’s redeeming grace is at work.
