Stoya was in LA, so she and Mitcz took the opportunity to record a podcast in his living room with clip-on mics (while Mitcz’s cat wandered in and out, constantly distracting Stoya) to discuss some HUGE upcoming ZeroSpaces.com changes, and – more to the point – walk you through everything in the latest ZS issue named EXPLORE. You’ll get some fun behind the scenes information, some untold stories, how issues come together, and some personal anecdotes about the motivations, reactions, and more related to the issue. It’s not just an advert, we promise, it’s actually fun and insightful as well.

Stoya and Mitcz start with a discussion of their dating priorities, which leads to them both wondering how anyone else treats the dilemma of an instant electric attraction vs the feeling of safety and security. With this dilemma, they reach out to their friends of a variety of genders and dating situations to ask the question and get a range of responses that illuminate how varied the question itself can evolve, as well as the answers, in this most wide-ranging discussion they’ve had yet.

Stoya & Mitcz talk about their long-awaited collaborative adult web project ZeroSpaces. It’s live now, but we recorded this a few days ago to prepare. There’s also plenty of cat talk, some industry rants, and the usual banter.

Mitcz’s mic wasn’t working properly, so his audio isn’t quite as nice as usual. He apologizes for that.

This week, Mitcz heads to downtown LA to participate… err.. well, watch, the LA County Board of Supervisors hearing on the proposed updated implementation of LA County’s “Measure B” provision, which is another of those pesky anti-porn “you need condoms, you heathens!” laws. We discuss what went down, how it went down, and do some journalist stuff. Like professionals! Kinda!

Stoya gives historical perspectives, a lot of educational remarks, and provides a lot more background on the various laws discussed in this episode.

Here it is, the long-awaited post Exxxotica Chicago 2017 wrap-up episode. It’s a shorter one, both because there wasn’t a lot we (publicly) had to talk about – being a convention and all – and because we’re aiming for shorter, but more frequent, episodes.

Up first : Stoya & Mitcz discuss the recent Alamo Drafthouse Wonder Woman screening controversy, lending itself to a brief discussion of masculinity and Bromance (which is officially a scholarly term, we found out). From there, we discuss the two-part T*ts and Sass articles about Hot Girls Wanted, and what they explain about the adult industry – including what Rashida Jones truly think of sex workers (in her own words).

We also discuss a fascinating, yet largely forgotten, bit of history when women used hatpins for self defense and the controversy and legal battles that ensued. To round out part 1, we end on a discussion that was touched upon in our Buck Angel episode : women being the sexual pursuer, how Stoya navigates the dating/sex playing field, and how Mitcz does so from the other side of the aisle, while finishing on some discussions about catfishing and online roleplaying.

In part 2, we discuss Stoya’s fun adventures at Wonderlust in Helsinki — including hug procedures, Stoya gets into some rough BDSM spank play, and how Serbia is treating her. There’s a lot of smaller topics and tangents both parties get into and Stoya tells a fascinating story about her layover in Berlin. We round out part 2 with a discussion of power dynamics in relationships based on role, job, age, and more.

Lastly, our first round of “Stoya Guess Pop Culture”. There’s something for everyone! (hopefully?) in this episode.

Ohh boy is this gonna be a fun episode for you. For the first time ever we have a special guest : the one and only Buck Angel. He was a g’damn delight, and managed to talk more than Mitcz! We discuss so many things in this episode, it’s easier to use a list format than the usual paragraph style :

… and then a fun little bit at the end where we learn what the literal translations of Mandarin Chinese names for various animals are, and Buck tells a personal anecdote about owls that’ll amuse and amaze you.

We’re back again and finally have a proper name for this thrice-renamed podcast. This time, it’ll stick!

This episode is far more representative of our hopes for this podcast. We talk a LOT about sex work, sex workers, sex workers’ rights, feminism (and the controversy about feminism vs sex work), trans-folk rights and America’s dismissal of same, answering listeners’ questions, making a lot of jokes, keeping a positive attitude, and exploring nuances of so many related topics. If you stick around until the end, you’ll learn how Stoya and Mitcz met, and hear some fun insider knowledge about their respective careers.

We know, we know. It’s been awhile. Over a year. We’ve been busy. And there’s been some changes (and exciting things on the way!). In a first-ever, Stoya & Mitcz actually recorded this in-person, in the same room!

We dance around legalities as per what we can officially announce, but those who know how to read into things will know what we mean. We take some audience questions which include Stoya’s retrospective view on her career, and a lengthy discussion on robot sex, androids, VR, and high-tech pornography. Amongst all of that, we still manage to sneak in some discussions on sexual health, adult industry history and ethics, and advice for the casual listener.

Also, we make a promise to actually update this podcast more often, once we figure out a new name.

We kick things off this week with two cat-related news items, leading Stoya and Mitcz to discuss their struggles with their hyper cats that know how to — and always keep trying to — play fetch. Stoya sets the record straight about a story that her TrenchcoatX co-owner (Kayden Kross) loves telling people — and Stoya posits a theory about why Kayden loves embellishing the story every time. Mitcz introduces Stoya to the “Nutscaping” phenomena, leading to a discussion of #freethenipple and Instagram censorship. Stoya discusses her ongoing battle with “the turks” after Mitcz finds an interesting Google trend with her name. We spend the final 1/3rd of the podcast discussing sex trafficking, and mainstream media’s inability to actually report on it properly, and Stoya makes a number of suggestions on how they should deal with the subject moving forward.
