Markus Zusak uses words like “challenging” and “ complex” to describe his three dogs, Reuben, Archie and Frosty. In this interview Zusak recounts the joy of remembering his hounds in all their unvarnished glory for this, his first memoir. Also, the challenge of recording his own audio books, the old favourites he likes to read and re-read “forensically”, and which of his favourite books piqued Archie’s literary tastebuds!

Celeste & Deanna Start Pilates
Celeste and Deanna are trying Pilates for the first time! Celeste shares her experience with Reformer Pilates, while Deanna talks about mat Pilates. They compare the two styles and share if it’s worth trying. Aaron, who's never done Pilates, asks all the curious questions. They also chat about their fitness routines—Aaron squeezes in workouts during lunch, Celeste is an early riser, and Deanna works out whenever she can.
Fitness Fads & Trends
In part two, the group dives into popular fitness fads like HIIT, CrossFit, and the 75 Hard challenge. Deanna wants to revive 80s aerobics, while they all reflect on trends they’ve tried, loved, or disliked. They wrap up by discussing gym fashion—from leggings and legwarmers to today’s activewear styles.
Trying Out a New Gym
Trying out a new gym gave us fresh insight into what it's like to work out in an unfamiliar space. We talk about how gym culture has evolved since the 80s, especially the rise of women in weightlifting—a field once dominated by men. We also tackle the bad marketing messages that still exist, like the myth that lifting weights will make women bulky. Plus, we share our personal experiences with trainers—both the good and the bad.
Getting Started on Your Fitness Journey
If you’re ready to start your fitness journey but don’t know where to begin, it all starts with knowing your "why." We’ll share what we’ve learned about breaking bad habits, like being a serial gym donator, and when to seek medical advice before getting started. We’ll also bust some common gym myths, such as the idea that not sweating enough means you didn’t work out properly. Plus, we discuss the importance of building muscle, especially as muscle mass decreases with age, and explore the balance between cardio and weight training. Finally, it’s all about finding the right workout for you by trying new things and sticking with what works.
Expect expert guests from a variety of fields to drop in, as well as discussions on health, wellness, life-hacks and more. Whether you’re catching up on trends, discovering fresh ideas, or just enjoying some witty conversation, this show is your perfect go-to – with your favorite bubbles, of course!
