A new “Sun tax” impacting Aussies with solar panels has been slammed by energy experts as “madness” and a “rip-off”, who are accusing energy companies of wanting to charge people for making energy from sunlight.

The new measures will see households paying for sending solar energy they generate back to the electricity grid during peak times.
