In a world where hard work and consumerism are glorified, it can be hard to allow ourselves to stop and rest. But, biblically, taking a sabbath isn’t a suggestion or a luxury, it’s a command that comes with many advantages.

God uses the Ten Commandments to teach us truth about life by digging deeper into ourselves. It is in the studying and honoring of him that we experience true transformation.

When we think of the Ten Commandments, we often think of instructions that were chiseled into stone where God spoke mostly of what not to do. As followers of Jesus, what do these old tablets mean and what does God desire for us now?

The disciples didn’t ask Jesus how to revive the dead, heal the sick, or feed the multitudes, instead, they simply asked him how to pray. Prayer is our direct line to God’s power and movement in our lives. So then, how do we pray?

The Holy Spirit is mighty and powerful and able to do the impossible. In order to see his power manifest, we must be bold in asking for him to move, and not limit his abilities due to our lack of agreeance and faith. What can we do to increase the Spirit’s power in our lives?

Once you accept Christ into your heart, there is nothing you can do to separate yourself from him. God’s spirit is alive in you and it is this deposit that guarantees your inheritance in heaven.

Whether you are new to Christianity or you have been a believer for years, it is easy to forget the power given to us by the Holy Spirit. In our belief, we invite, him, the spirit, to reside inside of us. When is the last time you really reflected on the fact that the POWER OF GOD is living, breathing, and active inside of you?

We live because Christ gives us breath, but we truly come alive when we invite him to dwell within us. Wherever you are and in whatever season he has you, his presence changes everything. We get to be holy because our king is holy!

First things first! This is a New Year, but is it an old you? Our faith can take many twists and turns, as well as remain stagnant. This year be honest with where you are and take action that shows you trust God with your new year!

This season is about remembering the Son of God’s earthly arrival, but believing he existed is only the beginning. Our faith walk is about aligning our lives with God, and in doing so we find the gifts of joy, purpose, and power.
