In this episode of AustinoSportsTalk, Mahmet Tanir, host of the “Across The Pond” podcast, joins me to discuss growing up in the United Kingdom, the sports atmosphere in the UK, how he fell in love with the NFL (and became a diehard Patriots fan), how he and his dad are breaking into the food business, how Mahmet began his podcast, and some exclusive NFL (free agency) talk! Mahmet talks about how passionate sports fans are in the UK compared to the United States, how American football in the UK is more of a fun hobby rather than a serious sport to pursue, his days playing football as a quarterback and wide receiver, his experience of trying the McDonald’s in the US compared to the UK… and how UK McDonald’s is 10 times better than US McDonald’s… lol. He also talks about how the “Pat McAfee Show” introduced him to podcasting, and how he wants to take this podcast as far as it can go! Then we wrap up the episode with some NFL talk, with an emphasis on free agency!!! We start the NFL conversation briefly touching on the Deshaun Watson situation, and then dive deep into free agency. Mahmet gives his thoughts on the Patriots free agency frenzy so far and whether Brady or Belichick deserves credit for the Patriots run. The other signings we go over are: Kenny Golladay to the Giants, Andy Dalton to the Bears, Chris Carson resigning with the Seahawks, JUJU BACK IN PITTSBURGH CORVETTE CORVETTE, and Will Fuller to the Dolphins. We end the episode with our wayyyy too early Super Bowl picks! This is a can’t miss episode!
