Fifty years ago, an ensemble of like minded string musicians made their debut at the Sydney Opera House, performing to a sold out concert hall. 

They called themselves the Australian Chamber Orchestra, a name which over the decades has become synonymous with the finest string music in the world. 

On the eve of a European tour, and year of special 2025 program, Richard Tognetti reflects on the music and culture of the orchestra.
