  • SBA | The EIDL & PPP Loan Debacle

On March 27th, 2020 former President Donald Trump passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, also known as the CARES Act. This was a $2.2 trillion stimulus bill in response to the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. A portion of this aid was to go to small businesses that had been hit the most financially as a result of the crippling virus. The conduit…the Small Business Administration or as many may know them, the SBA.

What should have been a well executed and clear-cut plan as guided by White House officials and lawmakers in Congress, ended up being nothing of a sort. From wide-spread fraud, to inconsistent approvals and unjust denials for economic aid relief, we’re diving in deep to the mess that was and in some ways still is the SBA’s EIDL and PPP loan programs.

We’d like to welcome you to our Third Episode of Authentic Filters: SBA | The EIDL & PPP Loan Debacle. If you applied for one of these loans and were wrongfully denied or even have a story to share on your experience with the SBA, we’d love to hear from you as we know there are others! Email us. • Covid-19 | One Year Later

The Corona Virus also known as Covid-19 was introduced to the world in 2020. Roughly a year later, we are still facing challenges with this Global Pandemic. Those who are classified as essential workers, had to push through and remain working on the front lines, each day despite the fears they may have faced.

Many lives were lost due to the slow response with putting forth a plan to contain the virus. On a global scale, there have been 152 million people that contracted the virus, which has resulted in roughly 3.19 million deaths. In the U.S. there were roughly 33 million cases reported of people being exposed to Covid-19. That resulted in 589,000 people losing their lives to the Corona Virus. Many of us had asked ourselves, Is this now the new normal as we struggled to deal with the loss of family and friends. Would we ever go back to the way things used to be or would we all have to adjust and hope for the better?

During those dark times, people went into survival mode by taking one day at a time because the world was filled with too much uncertainty. Towards the end of 2020, several vaccines were introduced and are currently being distributed around the world. Things are starting to shift in a positive direction and people are feeling hopeful about the future again. Now, each day feels like a new day.

We’d like to welcome you to our Second Episode of Authentic Filters: Covid-19 | One Year Later. If you have not had a chance to get vaccinated, we encourage you to do so. Be smart, be aware, and understand that this Virus is nothing to play with! Let us know your thoughts below. • George Floyd | The Trial

May 25th, 2020 will forever be a day that many Americans and quite frankly most of the world will remember. It was a day of many emotions: shock, sadness, anger, and disbelief. It was a face to face meeting with evil itself and just what it can do to someone in broad daylight.

George Floyd was born October 14th, 1973 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was like many of us while growing up in Houston, Texas. A man with dreams and ambition all while trying to overcome the obstacles that had been dealt to him in life. He wanted to be “BIG”. Not just in his physical stature at 6’6, but in life. He wanted to go places, see things, and make a difference. He wanted to impact the world and be remembered for doing something great.

It’s hard to say what lies ahead for any of us later today, tomorrow, or a year from now. But one thing is for sure, you should never loose that spark in you to do something great. Mr. Floyd never did and we honor him for that.

We’d like to welcome you to our First Episode of Authentic Filters: George Floyd | The Trial. If you have not had a chance to watch the trial in its entirety or at least the important parts, we’ve recapped a few moments, but would encourage you to Youtube the highlights in your spare time. Was this Justice, Accountability or both? Let us know your thoughts below.
