    • How is a church authorized to raise money to do a work that God authorizes it to do?

        • Benevolence under certain circumstances.
        • The scripture authorizes only one way for a church to purpose to raise funds.
        • The scripture authorizes three ways for a church to use its funds.
        • Authority
          • Aids are allowed, but never additions.
            • NOTE: An aid is that which makes it possible to do the act without adding another act.
            • Examples:
              • Command: teach word
                • Aid: literature, chart
                • Addition: another gospel or organization
                • Command: sing
                  • Aid: leader, book
                  • Addition: mechanical instrument
                  • Command: relieve widow indeed
                    • Aid: place, personnel, necessaries
                    • Addition: another widow or organization
                    • Command: assemble
                      • Aid: place
                      • Addition: place for social functions
                      • Conclusion: It is just as important to do a thing like God said as it is to do it.
