Auto Correct | Oxygen Sensors & Catalytic Converters

Listen Later

Automotive oxygen sensors, colloquially known as O2 sensors, make modern electronic fuel injection and emission control possible.

If an oxygen sensor fails, the engine computer won't be able to correctly set the air-fuel ratio, which could result in lower fuel economy, higher emissions and damage to other components, such as an overheated catalytic converter. https://www.cars.com/articles/when-should-the-oxygen-sensor-be-replaced-1420663031800/
