In the news:
According to https://gaspricesexplained.com/: Changes in gasoline and diesel prices mirror those of crude oil prices, which are determined in the global crude oil market by the worldwide demand for and supply of crude oil. Crude oil costs accounted for 53 percent of what people are paying at the pump per the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Excise taxes averaged another 17 percent. That leaves 30 percent for the refiners, distributors, and retailers.
