  • Ashley Grubbs on Adult NeuroDiverse Relationships
Are you afraid to date someone with autism? Do you feel it will be like having sex with a “robot?” Do you think the sex will be bad and passionless, and your needs will not be met? Think again. Neurodiverse relationships can, and do, work. Ashley Grubbs, a licensed professional counselor who practices in Colorado, Texas and Virginia, specializes in neurodiverse couples counseling and knows first-hand that these relationships can be everything a partner is looking for. She is happily married to a man on the autism spectrum. Just because the neurodiverse brain works differently, doesn’t mean it is broken, she explains. The brain processes information differently, which means the person’s view and expectations of sex will be different from their partner’s. Begin the process of understanding how your partner thinks, and what his/her perceptions are regarding sex and intimacy. Start the communication and conversations. Autistic people may have difficulty expressing love or empathy because they are unable to label their emotions and feelings and verbalize them. What comes to us naturally, is not a natural process for them. On the positive side, the autistic partner is open and honest about what they are thinking. They also are loyal, kind and thoughtful – that is how they love us. They feel so deeply, but they struggle with expressing those feelings – they don’t know how to assign words to their feelings. The ultimate goal is that both people in the relationship will have their sexual needs met. There are barriers to overcome, but once they are resolved, the relationship can be satisfying, pleasurable and fulfilling.

  • Manage Gout Naturally: HealingMatters 69
In episode 69 of HealingMatters, Jason Eagle talks about Gout. What is gout, what triggers gout, and how to manage gout holistically and naturally? Gout is extremely painful, hot, swelling in the joints. There is a direct correlation between the food you eat and the increase or decrease in the Gout symptoms. Learn how to decrease the inflammation and infection...Naturally! Gout is pain, swelling, and inflammation in the joints from a buildup of uric acid. Uric Acid is a waste byproduct from digesting purines in food. Swelling and inflammation tends to increase overnight. Uric acid created infection. Gout is also called The King's Disease because rich foods that are rich in Arginine like liver, meat, chocolate, wheat, shrimp, beer, nuts can trigger gout symptoms. Gout is connected to infection. It's hard to test uric acid levels for precursors to gout. Gout's painful warning signs also create an infection that will dissolve the bones because your body needs minerals to make Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) and feed the immune system. The stomach can digest food. A buildup of uric acid actually means your stomach needs MORE acid. Antacids and too much Calcium will neutralize the stomach and do the opposite of what your body needs. There are things to eat and drink to make your stomach more acidic for better digestion. For instance, Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), Sea Salt, Celery Juice, and Potato Juice will help aid digestion and reduce Uric Acid. Eliminate fried foods, processed foods, and other foods high in Arginine. Increase eating foods high in L-Lysine. Don't eat foods that feed infections like sugar. Bacteria and Yeast feed off of sugar. You need more HCL. People that sit or stand for long periods of time are more prone to gout. Gout likes to settle in the toes because of the decreased blood flow to the joints so far away from the heart. There are several things you can do to increase the blood flow. Wear a good pair of compression socks. Do Super Elevation Therapy by lying on your back on the floor and putting your legs up on the wall so there is a 90 degree bend in your hips. Hot Cold Contrast Therapy will increase blood flow. Rebounding (bouncing) on a trampoline and then elevate your feet on the wall. Premier Research Labs Product I would take for Gout: Hydrochloric Acid (HCL), Oregano (ADP is a slow release), Grape Seed Extract (Citricidal), Garlic (Allicidin), Cardio ND, Olive Leaf, Hyssops (Hyssinol), and Bee Propolis (Propolis Immune). I also recommend Massage Therapy. Massaging and squeezing the feet and joints will help break do the crystals/uric acid. Massage Therapy increases the blood flow and moves the uric acid back up to the kidneys so you can urinate it back out.
