ANTWONE FISHER (2002) The film focuses on Antwone "Fish" Fisher, a temperamental young man with a violent history who is serving in the U.S. Navy. The rough life he had as a child has caused him to have a violent temper; after getting into a fight with a fellow sailor, Antwone is sentenced at a captain's mast to be demoted, fined, and restricted to the ship for 45 days. His commanding officer also orders him to go to psychiatric treatment. Antwone goes in to meet Dr. Jerome Davenport, who attempts to get him to open up. Antwone is at first extremely resistant, but gradually comes to trust Davenport and opens up about his traumatic childhood. Meanwhile, Antwone develops feelings for fellow Navy sailor Cheryl. With Antwone still getting into altercations, Davenport tries to explore his feelings for Cheryl in order to channel Antwone's feelings into something positive. Antwone finally goes on a date with Cheryl and establishes a relationship with her. 4. PRINCE OF TIDES The Prince of Tides is a 1991 American romantic drama film produced and directed by Barbra Streisand, based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Pat Conroy, and starring Streisand and Nick Nolte. It tells the story of the narrator's struggle to overcome the psychological damage inflicted by his dysfunctional childhood in South Carolina. Conroy and Becky Johnston adapted the screenplay.[2] The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, but received none. "The therapist was overstepping her boundaries by allowing personal feelings to interfere," 3. THE SOPRANOS (HBO), The Sopranos is an American crime drama television series created by David Chase. The story revolves around Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), a New Jersey-based Italian-American mobster, portraying the difficulties that he faces as he tries to balance his family life with his role as the leader of a criminal organization. These are explored during his therapy sessions with psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco). 2.
