Automatic Rewind - Movie Reviews, Rewatches & Film Nostalgia

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Join us as we dive into Brian De Palma’s stylish spy thriller that kicked off one of the most durable action franchises in movie history. Mission: Impossible gave us exploding gum, CIA break-ins, and a young Tom Cruise sprinting toward superstardom (and helicopters). We’re talking masks, mole hunts, that iconic vault scene—and yes, that wild third-act twist.

And while Tom Cruise was dangling from wires, we’ve been doing our own stunts too—Cuz & Gus style. Think less “CIA infiltration” and more “falling through ceiling tiles trying to install a projector” or “getting chased out of a Publix parking lot during a rogue grocery cart drag race.” We’ve never broken into Langley (yet), but we have broken a folding chair and possibly a tailbone in the name of immersive podcasting.

In this episode, Cuz and Gus step onto the tee box and take a whack at Happy Gilmore—Adam Sandler’s legendary 1996 golf comedy that turned the PGA Tour into a full-contact sport.

From Bob Barker brawls to Subway sponsorships, we relive the moments that made Happy Gilmore a cult classic—and debate whether Happy would’ve made the cut on today’s LIV tour. And we’ve got to ask: when Happy Gilmore 2 hits the green in regulation, are we watching?

This episode, Cuz and Gus sink their teeth into Snatch, Guy Ritchie’s gritty, hilarious, and utterly chaotic crime classic. From bare-knuckle boxing to diamond heists, the boys unravel the film’s crisscrossing plotlines, iconic characters (yes, we’re talking about Brad Pitt’s unintelligible brilliance), and nonstop quotable dialogue. Expect some tangents, questionable accents, and a whole lot of fun along the way.

In the spirit of May the Fourth, Gus and Cuz take on Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith — and let’s just say, only one of them came into this as a fan.
