Cs: V podzimní Praze vládlo tajemné ticho.
En: In autumn Praha, a mysterious silence prevailed.
Cs: Listí hrálo všemi barvami a Jana měla pocit, že i vzduch voní knihami.
En: The leaves displayed all colors, and Jana felt that even the air smelled like books.
Cs: Jednoho rána našla Jana před svými dveřmi balíček.
En: One morning, she found a package outside her door.
Cs: Nebylo na něm jméno ani zpáteční adresa.
En: It had no name or return address.
Cs: Při pohledu na něj pocítila záchvěv zvědavosti.
En: Looking at it, she felt a twinge of curiosity.
Cs: Jana byla knihovnice.
En: Jana was a librarian.
Cs: Milovala řád a hledání odpovědí ve světě slov a knih.
En: She loved order and finding answers in the world of words and books.
Cs: Proto když otevřela balíček a našla uvnitř jen papírové šifry a kresby záhadných symbolů, zaskočilo ji to.

En: He wanted to return stolen paintings, which he secretly wished to get back to their original owners, and had created a complex system of clues and symbols.

En: With a sense of disappointment but also understanding, Jana nodded.
Cs: Marek navrhl, aby Karel pracoval na způsobu, jak tyto kousky vrátit méně komplikovaně.
