To mark our nation’s 250th birthday, join veteran journalist and passionate storyteller Peggy Stanton on a tour of all 50 states and the District of Columbia, under the guidance of our patroness, the Blessed Mother, in search of the famous and not-so-famous shrines, those least recognized but with wonderful, intriguing back stories.

Peggy Stanton is also the author of “From the White House to the White Cross.” She’s a Dame of the Order of Malta. Peggy was ABC News’ first female Washington correspondent. She has hosted programs on Ave Maria Radio including Power from the Pews. Her first book was “The Daniel Dilemma: The Moral Man in the Public Arena.”

We exist so no woman or couple feels the need for abortion. Programs offered through our center focus on sexual integrity, fetal development, ultrasounds, parenting, adoption resources, material support, and opportunities for personal growth and restoration.

“Our new ministry is called, “Relics on the Road” and involves traveling with and giving talks concerning relics of the church. We also offer people a chance to have a personal, hands-on encounter with said relics.

I am currently one of the stewards of approximately 640 relics of both the first and second class, with a majority of those being first class relics with their authentics (paperwork). We have a large number of Saints available, as well as relics of the Passion of our Lord such as pieces of the True Cross and the Crown of Thorns.

Over the past three years a dedicated team of volunteers and employees of several parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit have discovered, collected, and cataloged hundreds of relics that were previously either unorganized or outright undiscovered across several churches in the Archdiocese.

What started as a passion project quickly became a chance to evangelize and educate, as several volunteers have been able to take select relics out to a number of parishes and schools to share some of these treasures. This year I have personally taken relics to a number of schools and parishes and held talks for catechism, OCIA, Bible studies and more. With audiences ranging from 15 to over 150, we always provide a chance to both venerate and interact with the relics, and allow people to create their own third class relics by touching items like rosaries and scapulars to the first class relics. I currently travel around the Archdiocese, but I have been as far as Akron, OH to give talks and present as well. Before each trip I offer any given group a chance to browse our list of relics and select a few to tailor the experience to their group. From St. Thomas Aquinas and other doctors of the church for catechism classes all the way to relics of the Holy Family to present on family nights. Each group gets to add a personal touch to make it extra appealing.” - Sean Shriner

The Michigan Knights of Columbus will host Living Rosary at the Michigan State Capitol on September 13 at 2:00 PM. The event is expected to bring hundreds from across the state to hear inspiring speakers and to pray the rosary on the Capitol lawn.
