> *At 6 a.m. Claudia and I left our homes to arrive at the place and time scheduled for the start of the ride at 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival we met our companions and the large group of cyclists participating. It was exciting to be part of this event because the organizers with the support of the authorities paralyzed for a few hours the vehicular traffic in the avenues of the city as well as the mountain road to the village.*

I have written several times about the characteristics of this mountain road that leads to a paradisiacal destination, but this time my focus was on my legs, cadence, breathing and cycling with the techniques learned for a good performance on a route like this, although it was not a competition, most was at full throttle to arrive as soon as possible to the beach. I proposed to climb at my own pace to reach the summit of Portachuelo, only that a few curves before, I found a hydration point in which they delivered delicious snacks and drinks, there we regrouped to start the descent.*

After the descent (15 kilometers approximately) continues the road with straight and false flat somewhat demanding (another 15 kilometers), until you reach the arch of the entrance of the town to get later another hydration point accompanied by a group of drums (typical music of the Venezuelan coasts).*

> *Of course the girls (Claudia and Yvonne) left their bikes aside to dance to the music, we refreshed ourselves, rested a few minutes to continue the last stretch of 6 kilometers, of which 3 are the most feared by this servant, the sun was at its peak and the road is very rough, I concentrated on pedaling slowly and steadily, without looking ahead because it is discouraging that endless slope until finally, we conquered the highest point (antennas) to descend again to reach the Bay of Cata.*

> *The bay was bursting with visitors and cyclists, we went for our participation medals and then we were located to relax and enjoy the event which was very fun for the competition games and their respective prizes. We waited for the sunset to toast at the edge of the beach, in this opportunity we were almost all the aventurerasbike (missing Gaby), then we went to the inn *El Castillo* managed by our partner Eilys, there we prepared a delicious dinner and a sharing that lasted until the early morning (see video).*

> *The next day we woke up late, we prepared breakfast with a delicious coffee surrounded by trees, flowers and the inn's pets. We thought about going back to the beach but it started to rain very hard so we waited for the road to clear to return to the city. An unforgettable weekend, we continue living intensely the present to keep memories of pure life...let's go for more kilometers...until the next adventure!*
