  • EP23 – J-Spec Import Special - Average Joe Car Show
Welcome To Episode 23 of the Average Joe Car Show.
Thanks to all the conjecture and controversy around the Japanese car import scene at the moment, it has become increasingly hard to get honest and reliable information on importing your own special JDM performance machine.
That’s why this week we won’t be seeking advice from the shady Art Vandelay form the import and export company Vandelay Industries. In order to get the the best information possible instead we have gone to one of the most reputable names in the game. This week’s episode then will be a Import special featuring Ben from the well known J-Spec Imports.
In this episode we answer (among others) such questions as, how to import a car from Japan? Authenticity of odometers on imported cars? We also enquire into what cars can actually be imported with ease.
For more info on importing your own car you can contact J-Spec Imports. Thier contact details are below:
    Web: http://www.j-spec.com.au/
    Phone: 0434 288 682

Please call or email, no SMS.

  • EP20 – Blue Leader To Blue Rotor. Run These Guys Into Your Jet Walls - Average Joe Car Show
Welcome To Episode 20 of the Average Joe Car Show
Welcome Master Control Program, I have my report on the Average Joe Car Shows activities over the last week. Yes I understand you don’t like to be pushed, just hold on for a moment and I’ll give you my findings.
This week the boys were preoccupied with the “what car Dallas should buy?” straw poll. They had a great response to the poll. In the end the Rx7 RD3S won, followed by the Supra, and a draw with third place going to both the R34 GTT and S15 Silvia.
Due to the polls overwhelming response, the boys decided to test out the highest rated cars as voted on by the community. Was the community right to pick the RX7? Did Daniel convince Dallas to look at a 80s car? Has Dallas found his new car? Well Master Control Program i’m afraid I must insist you listen to the episode to find out more. Slow my power cycles down if you must, but this episode is to good to be ruined by my spoilers
That’s the end of my report, SARK out.
On a less comical note time to talk seriously about a serious car, Of all the cars we looked at today, there was one Silvia that stole the show. Honestly if you’re after reliable power I can’t think of a better car for less than 20k that delivers this. Unfortunately for the both of us this car wasn’t meant to be. However if you’re in the market for a well modded, insanely quick and clean S15 Silvia, honestly look no further than the below Carsales link:
    http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Silvia-2000/SSE-AD-3783182/?Cr=6
The car looks like it’s been loved and the owner really wants it to go to a loving home, so check it out if your interested.

  • EP19 – This Ain’t No Rhythm Nation, We Are Part Of A Stance Nation - Average Joe Car Show
Welcome To Episode 19 of the Average Joe Car Show
What do we have in store for this week’s episode I hear you ask? Well this, unlike the internet with Star Wars is a spoiler free zone. You’ll just have to listen then to get all the details.
What I can tell you is that Dallas has finished his torrid love affair with the MX5. He’s bored of roadster life and needs a change. You can help us decide what car he test drives first by participating in our poll. What ever car gets the most votes will be the first one we review on our Youtube channel. Head on over to http://strawpoll.me/6895864 to participate in the poll.
For those who know we love to flog a dead horse. That dead horse being how the RX7 FC3S is a superior and cheaper car than the GT86. As discussed in the episode you can see this for yourself by watching the following Best Motoring International review/ video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTFwBTC8x18. In this video you will see the Rx7 pull off some amazing drifts and shaming a R32 GTR.

This week we return for another trip on the Road To Recovery. On this episode’s segment Dallas gives us an update on his MX5. It would seem a douche most doggy altered his baby in its previous life. Hopefully all damage can be restored.
This week we also introduce a new segment entitled “Import Impossible”. In this segment we try and make sense of the Australian car importation laws. This is a must listen for anyone interested in bringing in a car from Japan.

As discussed in this episode we are looking at expanding our website to include long form, investigative and opinion based `articles. The articles can be on community issues, events, products, etc. The writing can be on anything you want, it just needs to be a minimum of 200 words and be on something you think would interest car enthused average Joe’s. We are looking at both form (writing skills) and character. We don’t care if you have experience, we just want unique perspectives.
We want to try and make the Average Joe Car show a platform, a place to share ideas and issues that affect regular car consumers. We want to share points of view left out or ignored by the mainstream car press. If you’re at all interested in contributing to the cause please send on through an example of your work.
