When the life you planned is not the life you got, the journey changes! Darci Steiner has shared her story with us and today her husband and caregiver join her on this podcast. Mark by default and love (in sickness and in health) became her caregiver after a tumble down the stops left her bedridden for two years - faith and modern medicine got them through that detour and brought them to another many year later... Leyna was so interesting to chat with and as always on Avoid the Maze we learned how she went from migrating to the United States as a young child - settling in the Minnesota - Midwest, she had dreams of journalism early on. After leaving the corporate world to spend more time with family (even going to High School Activities for her children) she did not give up her passion and interests but took a different pathway that has allowed her to have a healthier and happier lifestyle while enjoying what she does.

When I invited Brent Cassity to be my guest on Avoid the Maze - I chose to know as little about him so I could have him share his story with you our listeners and I could react to it in real-time. This is the format I use for most of our podcasts but I was very glad I took this journey with him.
Brent inspired me and I hope he will inspire you as well - he got caught up in white-collar crime and served time for it. Listen to what he has to share and let us learn from the mistakes of others. We do not have to recreate the wheel as he states but we must allow ourselves to be educated and aware of what we are involved in. It is easy to trust someone who you think has all the answers - but are their answers the correct ones?

"Darci J. Steiner has served in the ministry as a teen and women’s ministry leader, as well as assisted with church plants in Denver and Los Angeles. In 2001, Darci nearly lost her life after a debilitating fall. During her recovery, she earned her Master of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition and implemented natural remedies into her diet that helped save her life. When Darci became disabled a second time in 2018, she turned her focus toward ministry again by writing her debut book, Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering and its companion, Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering Study Guide."
Darci will be returning to share her journey and her book that just might help ME & YOU & US as we walk through life.
