Avoiding landfill for Lost Packages with King Colis, from Dec 9th Tallaght

Listen Later

From Tuesday, December 9th to Sunday, December 14th visitors to The Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght, Co. Dublin will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a completely new and unique shopping experience from King Colis. They will be able to get their hands on up to 10 tons of lost parcels with mystery contents.
Every year, millions of online orders get lost for various reasons, most often due to incorrect delivery information. After customers receive a refund, such undelivered packages were previously destroyed. Since 2023, King Colis has been purchasing these lost packages and giving them a second life. They are sold on the company's website or in well-known shopping centers across Europe. This way, customers can help reduce waste and leave a positive environmental footprint.
Avoiding landfill for Lost Packages with King Colis
The first pop-up store of this kind, organised by the French start-up King Colis, and while the concept is unique, the rules are very simple. Packages are sold by weight at very affordable prices, with two categories available, standard and premium. Standard packages are priced at only €2.49 per 100 grams, while premium packages cost only €2.99 per 100 grams. Shoppers will have 10 minutes to choose how many kilograms and packages they want, but they are not allowed to open them before purchase.
After great success in Paris, Rome, Madrid, Vienna, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Berlin, people in Dublin will also be able to take part in a real-life treasure hunt and, with a little luck, become the new owners of high-tech devices, designer clothes and shoes, watches, beauty, household appliances and so much more.
Speaking on the opening of their Dublin pop-up, CEO and co-founder of King Colis Killian Denis says "We are so excited to finally be bringing King Colis and its concept to Dublin. It's always exciting because you never know what you'll get -sometimes there are real treasures hidden inside!." Adding to this Killian spoke about some of the lucky customers. "For example, in France one customer discovered a small collectible gold bar, while in Italy someone found an ultra-rare Pokémon Card valued at €4,000. Of course, luck plays a big role in what you find in your packages, but one thing is certain, the experience is unforgettable. I believe the turnout will be great, as it has been elsewhere, and I advise anyone thinking about it to get down early as stock is limited!"
