Jay Barnett is a former professional football player before his second act. The closing of this chapter left him without an identity. Football gave him discipline, family, friends, a means to provide for himself, as well as, purpose until he could no longer play. How do you figure out who you are when you can't perform anymore?
The beginning of this chapter in his life was excruciating but necessary to get to the man he was destined to become. He says, "If you don't change your life, your life will change you." This is just what he did, with vulnerability and grace. Sharing his story is helping men in Black communities everywhere to break the cycle of emotional chaos. His #JustHealBro tour and journal are picking up steam, as word the spreading. We don't have to stay broken. It's OK and you can heal.
Listen to this powerful episode as we openly discuss mental health including suicide, the lessons, healing, generational trauma, challenges for loved ones, and so much more.
