This episode of Awake All Hours is dedicated to the memory and legacy of visionary artist, SOPHIE. We begin this week by addressing the deeply saddening loss of one of modern music's true icons, the cancellation of Glastonbury & Coachella and the PRS' decision to implement a license fees for live-streamed events (which, at the time of upload, has apparently been reversed). We kickstart our Insights series in 2021 by welcoming Joe Price! Better known as Third Son, the prolific producer, composer, Polymath label boss and DJ has had notable releases on the likes of Matthew Herbert's Accidental Records, Step Recordings and more recently Dusky’s 17 Steps. However, perhaps his most impressive achievement of all can be found on his very own Polymath imprint – ‘20 Days’, an exceptionally ambitious lockdown album written, recorded, mixed and mastered in exactly that (well... 15 actually...). 

Over the course of this interview, we go in depth on the process behind '20 Days', Joe's workflow, tips for people starting to unravel the mysteries of modular synthesis, his forthcoming covers album, Covid-19 and more.

PAY ATTENTION. That's the conclusion we drew after spending an incredibly enjoyable and eye-opening 90 minutes in the company of Verraco. The Colombian DJ and Producer’s Insurgentes imprint, a label he runs with close friend Defuse, is quickly becoming one of the most essential labels in modern IDM, pushing beautifully crafted braindance. His debut full-length 'Grial' is a perfect mission statement for the label as well as an outstanding creative achievement.

Over the course of this interview, we discuss football, Medellín's political and musical landscape, Latin American identity, sound and influences, studying and gigging in Europe, Covid-19, Insurgentes and sub-label TraTraTrax,  the creative process behind 'Grial', as well as some super-exciting exclusives...
