The reputation that proceed Christians will impact our ability to get the message of Jesus out. Unfortunately, the reputation isn’t always a very good one and it immediately puts us at a disadvantage. We can overcome those things through a few simple actions found in Ephesians 6:5-9.

All of us who are followers of Jesus are called to submit to one another. Paul includes parents and children in this call. Paul shows us in Ephesians 6 what God intended the parent/child relationship to look like.

Marriage was God's idea and there are times that we need to go back to see how marriage is suppose to look like and what responsibilities we are to have in the marriage relationship.

Contentment is not settling for what you’re stuck with, it’s unlocking the joy in what you’ve been given

Walking wisely, and using our time purposefully is the goal of any follower of Jesus, but that can’t be done without making the active choice to set aside certain things from our old way of living, and choosing to instead be complete in the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18-21 helps us understand the practical way to do all of this.

We all want to make an impact with our life and the way we make an impact is by knowing how to use our time well. If we are to imitate God, we need wisdom on how to make the most of our time.

In our world we see many images of light versus darkness. In the Bible we are told to walk in light as imitators of our Father. Paul reminds us that in the midst of a dark world we are to be defined by the light of Jesus.

Learning to walk can be difficult. There are times when we stumble and fall. Paul understands that and is encouraging us as we imitate God. One of the ways we imitate Him is through love. We are taught about what love is and isn't.

As we move into another year of ministry its important for us to remember that we want to please God in everything we do! On Awaken's 12th birthday, we are reminded of Hebrews 11:6

Any parent will tell you that their kids will mimic them in all the good and bad ways. In the Bible, we are called to imitate God. In Chapter 5, we learn what that looks like and how to mimic God.
