Pierre was healed by the Kahina, Roke learned more about Fjallraven. The party learned that their next step in their quest to "become Westerlings" was to bid farewell to the High Elder. and Alraab to make way to the Dried Oasis in the center of the Westerlands. They've just left and begun their journey on camel back.

The party explored the Cave of Ullar, retrieved bones from various High Elders. The cave was full of illusions and trickery. Pierre's mask was shattered into pieces by an arrow in the cave. They battled a mysterious shadow creature, which they believe may have been the spirit of the High Elder that destroyed the Lost Qabul, Hoda, centuries ago. They reemerged to an audience of a thousand cheering Westerlings.

The party met the High Elder. They also met the Dahia Al-Kahina, received strange visions, and learned they must enter the Cave of Ullar. They received gifts from the High Elder, and are readying to enter the cave and take the next step of their journey.

Tariq defeated Milak in a Mubaraza, becoming Elder of Jatoruk. He received a major injury. He used his authority as Elder to give the party enough supplies to make it Alraab. They moved very quickly, Roke taking to camel riding very effectively. After only three days of travel, they arrived at the capital of the Westerlands, the seat of the High Elder.

The party met Tariq's family. The local Kahina, an ancient woman named Farah, told Tariq "Great leaders do not seek to lead. They are called to it, and when that call arrives, they answer it"; "A sword can be more than just a sword"; "There is more than one way to win a Mubaraza"; "The masked man knows of what I speak." Roke gave Fjallraven to Farah and it killed her. They met with Milak, who was disturbed to learn of the "murder" of Farah. He challenged Tariq to a mubaraza, with a deadline of "when Ayu is highest in the sky tomorrow." If Tariq does not accept, him and the rest of the party will be banished from Jatoruk "from this day until the end of days."

The party travelled, mostly in the darkness, starved and dehydrated. They ran into Yareem, Tariq's closest brother in age, who was leading his own hunting party. They linked with the hunting party, learned of tensions in Tariq's home Qabul, and travelled for 4 days total before arriving at Jatoruk. Roke heard a voice emanate from his rapier once again.

Junia has a vision, and the party finishes crossing the wall.

The party has hiked 2 days into the Western Wall. They have been hearing strange, unnatural sounds in the distance during the nights. They learned that there is an optional detour halfway through the journey that leads to a body of water. There was a scare when Pierre's raven, Symour, mysteriously cawed "danger" several times before disappearing into the mountains. The party crossed a fallen tree and Pierre, Gram, and Junia all almost died.

The party arrived to Cario and learned that Adam Weller, the Steward of the West, is in a delusional denial about the existence of a threat of war. They received a wagon and 10 days worth of food & water, then left west. During they journey Flae met up with them and joined the party. The party has now arrived at the Western Wall.
